If you are so concerned about....then start one.
. . . and still NOT ONE thread giving Tony props for his fourth quarter last night.
Manu gets five swooning threads every time he scratches himself in a game, win or lose.
If you are so concerned about....then start one.
Is it because him is French?
technically he's half dutch and half-american who grew up, and has citizenship in france.
You miss the point, it's not the lack of threads, it's the hypocrisy.
usually when manu takes over the 4th quarter we win.......
we lost yesterday so......tony does not really deserve any props..may be a little :P
Tony can't win here.
Props to Tony for showing heart and drive when no one else on the team seemed to care...![]()
Tony fans seem to have a MASSIVE inferiority complex when it comes to Manu
Shoog, what hypocrisy? Tony has his fans, they just don't seem to like to praise him as much as Manu fans like to praise Manu. That isn't about hypocrisy.
I just love how Tony fans instead of starting a thread to praise Tony, they start one to that noone else has
P.S. Props to Tony really, regardless of why nobody started the thread, Tony does deserve the praise.
I love how Manu fans are so paranoid that they believe that anyone who dares to criticize the great Manu must be "ONE OF THEM".
I'm not a Manu fan or a Tony fan. I'm a Spurs fan and it pisses me off when people here are more a fan of one player than the team as a whole.
I think we've come to expect that kind of play from tony
plus, a loss is a loss, so while I appreciate his effort, we still didn't get the W which is what matters in the end
If Vaughn put up Parker's numbers from last night I'm sure he'd have gotten his share of props threads
Wether it pisses you off is not the issue. You were wrong, its not hypocrisy. Why is it that one seemingly can't be a fan of a team and STILL have favorites? because it pisses you off Shoogar? well I guess you're going to have to live with that huh?
I make no secret of the fact that my favorite player is Manu, but that doesn't mean I'm not as much a Spurs fan as the next guy. I like Tony, he's a terrific player, and God knows the Spurs including Manu would be ed if we didn't have him.
P.S. Excuse me for assuming you were a fan of Tony seeing as though you're always singing his praises. There is nothing wrong with having favorites, its the ones that feel they have to bag on Tony to pimp Manu or viceversa that should really get a reallity check.
Always singing his praises? Again, looking at things through the Church glasses means that because I don't always praise Manu, I must always be praising Tony, right?
I bash Tony when he screws up. I was on record a long time ago as saying he'll probably never be as good a player as Jason Kidd (who incidentlally, is probably the player with an impact on a game most similar to Manu's). And one of the few die-hard Tony lovers around got made at me for contributing to the jokes about him finally passing the rock to Eva.
Bruce is probably my favorite current player on the Spurs, but nobody went after him harder than I did for sticking his foot under players.
Duncan and Robinson are two top 20 players and the Spurs would be nothing without them and God knows I've vented at them consistently.
I respect the game of basketball and love the Spurs too much to turn it into mindless player-worship.
I agree
Props for what? Four uncontested lay-ups after the game was decided?
I never said you must be Tony fan because you don't praise Manu. If you're not a Tony fan then thats that, you clear it up and we move on. Everyone is going to have favorites Shoogar. Why don't you call out people who's favorite player is Duncan? I guess it isn't mindless then huh?
and please stop trying to imply that because I like Manu's style of play more than I do the rest that somehow makes me less of a Spurs fan, its an idiotic premise.
No to TP fans he had an 8 point run to keep the spurs in the game..![]()
I see the reinforcements have arrived.
Sorry, I know that wasn't fair, but you see how they're making my point for me.
I will never understand the Tony haters.
He is 10x more valuable to this team than Manu.
I didn't see the game because... well it wasn't on over here, so I can't really argue. Still judging by the boxscore, it seemed to be a close game, so how anybody can find fault in 4 layups in the last minutes of the game is beyond me. If anything it shows Tony didn't just throw the towel and the rest of the players seem to have done.
yes I do, that's the people I was referring to before
Then we are in trouble because if our 2nd best player gets shut down by collapsing defenses continually then we are sunk. Against the good teams and in the playoffs it's the same story teams keep him out of the lane and TP plays lost...
I'm not trying to make any point. I think the whole team played like last night. Manu couldn't shoot, gave the ball up in traffic, Tim did his hold the ball until someone strips it routine, and Tony looked to be in slow motion most of the night. I just didn't see anything special from him in the 4th quarter. They conceded him baskets.
What made me start this thread was not that nobody was giving TP any props, since that's pretty much a conditioned response, but that some moron started a thread actually blaming him for the fourth quarter last night.
