Thank you
I dont understand how a team can lose, especially the caliber of the spurs, when only committing 4 turnovers

I don't know. While I can agree with Timvp and Walton to a certain extent...that these games are good in a way and showed that the Spurs can stay in tough games with the chance to pull out a win, I also think these past couple of games showed a LOT of the Spurs weaknesses which if they aren't changed, will yet again result in an exit from the playoffs against the Mavs or Suns.
Oberto has proven that he cannot be much of a help out there against the bigger, tougher teams. I don't like Oberto against teams like the Mavs, Jazz, Suns, and Rockets in the playoffs. Yes he plays better defense than Elson, but he's proven to be too small to make much of a difference in the middle. Hence, Spurs would essentially have the same problem they did last season against the Mavs where guys like Jason Terry, Dirk, and Harris own the paint against us. Also, the last play of the game where the Spurs failed to grab a rebound, specifically Finley, shows that we're still relying on small ball but our personell still doesn't fit it. Lastly, our bench which I believe was a huge reason we lost the Mavs series is way too inconsistent and not productive. Horry, Barry, Oberto, Bruce, etc. all have to step up their games offensively for the Spurs to have a chance. We can just have 3 guys doing ALL the scoring.
The Spurs are still going to end up winning 50+ games, Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili are too good to not win that many. But the lineups and team we have now is not going to cut it in the playoffs. Spurs lack of an athletic swingman and Center is becoming more and more evident.
"he Spurs are still going to end up winning 50+ games"
Great, another fan with low standards.
I completely agree and by no means do I consider the Spurs a le contender at this point. I was simply pointing out that it was nice to see they cared down the stretch for a change.
Not a le contender at this point. We all have seen championship teams and this one ain't it right now. However if my memeory serves me correctly we went through rough stretches in the first half of every championship season.. The non championship seasons I don't remember rough stretches like we are having now..
I know Spurs always go through these early stretches where they struggle, losing to sub .500 teams. They do it every season. I'm not worried about them losing to these teams. I'm worried about what it's exposing about the Spurs and their weaknesses. I just don't think that with the team they have now, they have the ability to beat the Mavs or even the Suns in a 7 game series.
Sigh, do you not read?! If you did you would know that I continued on to say that I don't think this team will be able to win it all.
That's the same way I feel. We are, at best, inconsistent this year. Not only from game to game, but even within a game, like last night.
