I doubt it'll be a blowout either way. This game means too much to both teams for it to be one.

I would automatically give Pistons the le in the East at this point if it weren't for Flip. I seriously doubt in his ability to coach in the playoffs/NBA Finals type atmosphere. And Webber is a huge liability on defense.

What do Pistons fans think of Flip and his ability to coach the Pistons when it matters most?

The Spurs will at least show up, hopefully they won't fade in the fourth.

Yes coaching is a big key see 2004 but the players are vets and know how to win they can win even with Flip.

    Sheed's no match for Duncan.

    Manu owns Hamilton

Bruce's gonna do well against Chauncey

And Parker will drive by through everybody

    GO SPURs GO!!!
I am sure you never seen a Pistons Spurs game if you think Duncan owns Sheed.

Too bad C-Webb is past his prime. A combination of a young C-Webb and Rasheed would have been something that no team in the NBA, no matter how inept, could have screwed up.

An NBA team already did. They were both on the Washington Bullets in the mid 1990s.

True dat. With the addition of Webber the players basketball IQ outweighs Flips basketball IQ, so the players will ignore any bad advice and "play the right way".

This game doesn't mean that much to either team actually.

What do Pistons fans think of Flip and his ability to coach the Pistons when it matters most?
I'm skeptical, but willing to be convinced.

Like I was skeptical about Dumars' ability to get anything of value back for Grant Hill. Like I was about Rip's ability to replace Stackhouse. Like I was about Sheed's ability to be anything but a bad influence and a distraction. Like I was about a beanpole like Tayshaun trying to hold his position on the court. Like I am about Webber in general. Skeptical.

    But willing to be convinced.

With the West being as compe ive as it is, I'd say this game means a tad more to the Spurs.

Even with that said, this game doesn't matter that much to either team.

The game means more to the Spurs because they've been playing like and need a win over a good team.

True, it's only 1 win or loss either way, but don't think for a second that the Spurs players and Spurs fans in this forum aren't acutely aware of the fact that, including playoff games, the Spurs have won only 2 of the last 7 meetings between the teams

    No no no.

If Detroit wins, then it was a game that meant a lot.

If Detroit loses, then it was a game that didn't mean much.

    Get that straight.

Honestly, I don't like Flip. I don't mind to have Larry back.

But the reason they lost last year was not only because of Flip. The reason was WADE. I hate myself to say that. But he was the one to beat the pistons and he was the one to beat Dallas. Remember when we still had Larry in 2005(the year we played SA in final). We went to game 7 and both Wade and Shaq were injuried.

I really don't think if we lose again, it's because of Flip. But of course I am well aware that Flip is not the coach for a championship team.

I want to beat the heat this year so badly. I wish we can play SA in the final.

This game really doesn't mean much. But as a pistons fan and my mad respect for the spurs. THIS IS A BIG GAME TO ME!
They only play each other 2 times in the regular season. And with the way DAL playing and MIA improving. I am not sure if they will see each other in the final anymore. (Well I will pray)

    Go Pistons!

so if they have the best starting 5 players alive, why aren't they the #1 team in the league? the spurs are still ahead of the pistons in the league, even with "the best starting 5 alive."
cause we just got webber and billups missed a good portion of the yr with a injury and was out.

Hey, as lousy a coach as Flip Saunders is, I doubt even he will try guarding Timmy with Tayshaun Prince after McDyess picks up his 4th foul.

Hmm. I didn't think the game would be played. There were no flights out of this area, and certainly not to Detroit, because of the weather. I have a feeling the Spurs left Newark, or where ever they flew from, only this afternoon. They should be tired, cold, and wanting to go home to Texas, where it's warm.

Having said that, the Spurs will probably win by 10.

My fault, Shoogar, but it's so tempting to respond before reading the entire thread.
