he may be a great swimmer and basketball player (the best, imo), but he isn't a great athlete.

yeah cause being great at two sports, isn't the qualification for a great athlete.

chuck isn't nor ever was a world class athlete, but he was a world class basketball player. i think you and i may have different ideas on what an athlete is....just b/c you play NBA basketball doesn't mean you are a great athlete. perfect example is Tim Duncan, he may be a great swimmer and basketball player (the best, imo), but he isn't a great athlete. likewise, most pitchers in baseball are not great athletes either, but they are great pitchers...

there are many great athletes all over the world that aren't amazing at one skill, in American sports you are rewarded for being great at a skill set, not necessarily being a great athlete. there is a difference...
you're way off. comparing Chuck to Tim doesn't fit. Chuck could run and jump.

Is that basketball and swimming? And yes it more than likely means he is a great athlete. And Tim Duncan is a great athlete. No matter how you slice it.

Not just you and him, I would guess.

    I would also propose:

NBA Player = Great Athlete at least 95% of the time.

It's the sole reason I made, and won, this bet. Simple money, frankly.

    1. i'd say the NBA = more like 80% great athletes, but i think you and i understand each other

    2. i would think most people made the bet b/c barkley is 43 and bavetta is 67. i am not a professional athlete and would have destroyed barkley in that race...
