All in on Bavetta
On the evening of Saturday, February 17, former NBA superstar and current TNT basketball analyst Charles Barkley, 43, will challenge veteran NBA referee Bavetta, 67, to a footrace during TNT’s coverage of NBA All-Star Saturday Night presented by EA SPORTS. The distance of the race will be 235 feet (78.3 yards), as Barkley and Bavetta will race baseline to baseline, and then to the half-court line of the regulation basketball court at the Thomas & Mack Arena. In conjunction with the race $50,000, $25,000 from the NBA and $25,000 from TNT, will be donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Las Vegas.
All in on Bavetta
after seeing that footage of barkley tonight, i'm going with bavetta...i could be wrong but didn't they change the rules again tonight? barkley was talking about how they changed the rules on him and i thought he said it was up the court, back down the court (2 lengths of the court) then half way down the court to total 2.5X the court...kenny clarified it
I don't know if they change it again. I copied what I wrote from a press release.
It should be 94 feet + 94 feet + 47 feet (235 feet).
NBA court is 94 long.
What I posted says it is 235 feet.
I love Charles, and I hate , but I think will win this one.
will kick his ass in this one.
ya'll are going to feel pretty guilty betting on this if the poor old man kicks the bucket trying his heart out not to get beat by a fat guy
The guy jogs like 8 miles a day.... I think he'll be fine.
I'm putting my vmoney on the .
vbookie should be which one will get a heart attack first.
Say what you will about him, but there isn't much doubt that Bavetta is in great physical shape. He's the league's great manipulator, but his curious calls are almost never the result of an inability to keep up with the play.
Bavetta will win, I just bet like $400 on my vBookie money on him
If he does, he's going to have to kick it in installments because it is too big.
Bavetta is going to own Chuck just like he owns the Spurs.
I know this event is on Saturday night, but anyone know between what events it's supposed to take place?
I'm Sorry Sir Charles you sat the entire yr in front of us on TNTdoing all the talking you lack the energy and the exercise to beat Ref you might need this one
to catch him to win on this one. But I still wish you good luck.

What it comes down to is speed... if Charles is able to actually maintain a speed, which I don't think he will.. I think might have this one... hes a man on a mission, nothing to lose.
Chuck will win. might win long distance, but this is a short race which leg strength will be required to propel a person faster. Sorry, my dough is on the chunky guy!
Bavetta will win. Charles will try to cheat or something, or fall down and give up.
LOL that's ridiculous Sir Charles cheating on 67-yr old Bavetta? Funny
well, Sir Charles only weapon here is age and ego.![]()
... Anyone watching Inside the NBA? The billboard advertising the Bavetta Barkely race: " Let's get ready to Stumble!"
