People who say the Spurs are boring and that run-and-chuck no-defense teams are entertaining are the same people who think the fights in Rocky movies are examples of good boxing.

Which would you rather have?

-Championships or early exits?
-Celebrating with your buddies when your team wins or sulking
when they lose?
-Championship parades or "wait until next year"?

Watching your team raise championship banners on opening night
or watching other teams raising banners on opening night?

I'm sure there are hundreds of thousands of fans of the 14 teams
who didn't make the playoffs who are a of a lot more
bored right now than Spurs fans.

All of you fans of the "flash and flair" teams can have the excitement
of watching your teams' early exits.

I'll take "boring" championship ceremonies any day of the week.

I have a great cure for the Spurs "boring" reputation. They take their jerseys and replace "San Antonio" with "New York."

They would become instantly exciting. They would have multiple books written about them. In fact, they would be one of the most intriguing dynasties of all time!

Dude I was bored to tears watching the Spurs beat Phoenix. What with all the lead changes, defense, the Nash/Parker collision, etc.

I couldn't believe the unbelievable amount of boredom. Damn near slashed my wrists with my butterfly knife.

Spurs are so boring i had to sign up for this boring forum. Why do you spurs fans want? You cant play incredible defense, half court basketball and abuse the paint and be classified in the same category of entertainment as the suns, warriors and nuggets.

I'm not saying the spurs aren't good, their excellent and all you spurs fan I am sure have fun watching your team with 50 games every year. But i rather watch a game with high flying dunks, alley oops and flashy passes then just watch my team win after game. Remember the game is for entertainment not just watching your team with games

Why do you think the Spurs are never in the music highlights? Tim Duncan's abuses the backboard, Robert Horry ends up in the corner somehow wide open for 3 and Bowen's head in incredibly shiny. The most interesting person on that team in Ginobli since he pushes the ball every chance he gets and seems to make a layup regardless of how hard he's hit on a foul or where he is on the court.


The spurs are like those guys who live a boring, conservative, serious life, then turn 50 and decide want to have fun by buying a convertible corvette and shades. I'm sure most of you spurs fan are those guys mentioned above.

"The NBA's new division/playoff ranking system is garbage and they have messed up again. Not only will the finals be boring (Spurs vs Pistons) but the western finals with be incredibly boring(Spurs vs Jazz). Statistics show when these teams play TV ratings drop. Maybe next year the NBA will change the rules and the NBA finals will be similar the NYC subway serious (Mets vs Yankees) and have two exiting teams (Warriors vs Suns)"

P.S. the spurs jerseys are so boring and conservative. Do they even have an alternate jersey? I know they have the one retro jersey which looks pretty much like the regular season jersey. Maybe if they change their colors the game will look more exiting.

Spurs are the PC in (Mac vs PC) commercials.

Why not just make it the WWE? Seriously, if it's just about entertainment and who will bring the most viewers to their televisions, then why even bother with the notion of there being a real compe ive element to the game? Preordain winners to ensure "exciting" matchups that will keep ratings high and do away with the notion of one team actually being better than another. That's what people want, isn't it?

I practicallly like how the Spurs play as a team. Maybe that mentality got into me that even when I play NBA live, 2k7 or arcade baskeball, I run a low-post play, waiting for the CPU to double team Duncan and then kick-out to the open shooter.

It has become clear to me that no matter who plays on the Spurs or how exciting they are, PTi, Cold Pizza, and all the other b.s. talking heads at b.s.p.n. will ALWAYS call them boring. I personally stopped giving a in 2005 when I saw the most exciting Finals of my life ( I started watching in 1984). When the ratings for that finals series came out, all I could do was laugh.

I think the Spurs are the ONLY exciting thing about the NBA. And I'm not exaggerating. They and a couple of other teams (_allas maybe, detroit, chicago maybe, Phoenix but ONLY because of Nash) are the only reasons to watch an NBA game anymore.

I can't imagine watching a primetime lakers v Knicks game. That would bore me to tears.

I'll tell you what I find boring:

watching a "superstar" take 45 shots to score 30 points.

watching a whole game to see 3 Lebron dunks in a losing cause

watching entire teams that let people blow by them on defense because " , it wont make bspn highlights."

listening to Gilbert Arenas open his mouth

wondering what DWade will try to sell me on the next commercial break

wondering what "starbury's" new shoe will look like

If I cared about all of that bull , I would watch espn.
