So go back in time to summer 99 and sign Fisher.
The Spurs' le window closes at some point before TD and Manu retire. Judging by Manu's performance this postseason that's not too far off. Look out, 2015.

panic.
For what? I know & you know you make these posts just to get people all wound up.
You post crap like, we shoulda gotten Troy friggin Murphy, because he would be the savior & blah blah blah. Then you get excited when someone, like chump comes back arguing why it would be stupid to pay Murphys insane contract for a bench player, like any rational Spurs fan would think..then its like you smell blood because he posted once, now you gotta come back & push his buttons some more, get him to post again, now its a full on pissing contest, which is exactly what you want...look, we get it, your an attention , if thats what does it for you, then great(too bad you have to do it by suggesting idiotic player signings)...I know people like you, & your just posting this crap to get a response out of people, when I think that you dont even believe the Spurs should do or get who you have suggested. You know, I would agree with you if you were saying "hey, the FO needs to do what it takes to get Nocioni, or Pietrus or some other decent talent that could be had for a reasonable contract" but suggesting that we take on a $36 mil contract for a backup PG & a $50 mil contract for an unproven jump shooting PF is asinine.
Reality.
Good one, Chumper.
omfg i would rather cheer for usc and the mavericks than derek fisher in the silver n black
Marcus Bryant getting owned by Chump, he is scrapping to be right. reminds me of when he said Nash wasnt drafted by the suns...
hilarious.
WTF, link to that? I don't ever remember marcus saying that....
I thought that was the offseason of 2000...I distinctly remember being happy that we didn't get him after he spent most of 00-01 injured with foot problems...and then realizing how wrong I was after he reigned down threes on Spurs domes in the WCF.
I am on the fence on him...I like the shooting, I like it a lot, but he's too slooooooooooow now.

MB was stating Suns BUY their players.
Fisher would be good.... I would hate it, but once he won us some games, I would get used to it. Murphy tho.... NO IN THANKS.... That's one of the last guys in the NBA I want on the team. He's like a poor, poor, poor man's Dirk.... and that's nowhere near a complement.
I'm not worried tho.... The way I see it, another win tomorrow night, and we pretty much have another ring (although things can go wrong)... We'll definatly need to make some changes in the off-season, but this year we're alright, so let's just enjoy the run, and worry about getting all these guys when we can actually go out and get 'em.
I'd love to have Noch btw... but I don't see it happening
Bring back Jacks!
they didn't resign Nash after he became an MVP type player in Dallas?MB was stating Suns BUY their players.
Interesting.
They drafted Nash and Finley and gave em away to dallas.
Thats a fact. sorry.
Hey don't worry Marcus, I'm working on a list of D-League prospects that might be worth a look this summer. I'm not expecting you to read it.
Watching the Utah-GS series, the two guys that jump out at me who could help us are HARPRING and MILLSAP. Both composed, junkyard-dog types who do what they do well (primarily hustle-work and D) and limit themselves to that. MILLSAP reminds me of Malik Rose at his best.
I'm going to guess that Millsap is off-limits, anyone know Harpring's contract numbers?
Millsap would be a dream come true, I love Millsap, no .... We passed on him, coulda been ours right now. Bet that one's being regreted alittle. Oh well.
Harpring... No thanks really.... but just fyi, he signed a 4-year/$25 million extension with Utah last summer
It's kind of odd how we about the rebounding from our centers, but when you look at it from a productivity standpoint it's difficult to see how Oberto and Elson can do much better, given their respective shortcomings.
Qualified rebounding per 40 minute rankings
Rank - Name - Team - reb/40 min

It could be argued that the per 40 stats are of limited use, but relatively speaking, exactly how many rebounds should we be expecting from these guys?
Oh and just for Sparcus' sake, I'll rank them with some players from the full list that includes some players who didn't actually qualify since they didn't play enough games....
Rank - Name - Team - reb/40 min
9 Justin Williams* SAC 16.6
19 Louis Amundson* PHI-UTA 15.1
25 Charles Hayes* HOU 14.6
37 Jared Reiner* MIL 14.0

* - denotes flawed D-League callup talent
I don't know if you're talkin about me or not... but just in case...
I wasn't tryin to say that by sayin I love Millsap, I just think he's an outstanding talent. Great rebounder, physical, decent mid-range, good hands, good character.... All that with being as young and affordable as he is, any team would be crazy not to want him imo. Utah would be just as crazy to give him up tho.
The bashing of our bigs is greatly exaggerated imo... True of it all is that there's just not awhole lot of GREAT big men out there, you've gotta take what you can get.
No, I'm not addressing you in particular. Millsap is a fine player -- ranks #20 in the qualified list.
Anyone who wanted to sign him was pretty smart. Buy low.
Well, I take back my previous statement of passing him over, cause I forgot we didn't pick in the 1st round of the '06 draft (NY), and didn't pick in the 2nd round until the very end when he was gone..... but yea, Utah got a of a steal when they got him at 40-somethin
Harpring, 4yrs at $25mil!? Ouch! i was thinking he was a $4mil player.
Yeah, we don't have a shot at Millsap, but he's exactly the solid, dependable type i would like to have coming off the bench to relieve Tim. Do you think he's too slow to guard 3s?
Anyway, I've really come to appreciate Utah. Thought they'd be very good this year and they have been - they are tough and scrappy, they have two low post threats in Boozer and Okur (yes, he can play back to the basket!), a fantastic PG and two great backups in Williams, Fisher and Brown, hustle players who are good defenders in Millsap and Harpring, and the Ace in the Hole in AK-47 who looks incredible at the moment (found himself at just the right time for the team). Very well balanced team. All they lack is SGs (Giricek is below average at best) and 3-pt shooting (shot 33% this reg season)...
Williams is the guy who's gelled it all together though. He's like a young Mike Bibby but bigger, a better passer and defender. He's pretty clutch.
Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled programming...![]()
Spurs could have had Pietrus if they were willing to take Fisher's contract- think that was around the trade deadline in 2006.
When I saw the le of this thread, I thought it was going to be about Raja Bell.
