Yep they will probably be suspended. Horry made the play of the game with that hit. It's too bad he'll get rewarded with taking out Stoudemire for that hit as well as Diaw.
Suns fans: It doesn't matter what Amare was doing, even though it was obvious he was heading for the fracas. He left the bench. He stepped on the floor. That's a one game automatic. He's not going to get a free pass on this.
So get used to the lineup of Nash/Bell/Marion/Diaw/KT

The players never crossed mid-court and they were very close to the scorer's table the entire time. This is not like any other situation that has occurred previously. You can certainly argue that they were merely going to check into the game. No suspension is warranted.
listen pablo, stoudamire was not headed towards the scoring table and the replay clearly shows it.
Nobody will be happy tomorrow. thats my prediction.
Personally I think horry should be the only one suspended.
But if Amare is suspended.
That will be the excuse that they will use if the spurs win the series.
But imagine if the suns win on Wednesday w/o them??
My god we will never hear the end of it...
Agreed. As fans, don't you want your team to beat the other team at full strength? While he did cross the line he did not engage in the altercation - which is what the rule was really meant for.
These are the PO's and probably the best series of the PO's, do you really think the NBA wants to diminish that with two silly suspensions?
Actually, as Barkley mentioned, the rule was created after a nasty Suns/Knicks fight in the 92/93 season in which Greg "i'm a pussy" Anthonly came off the bench in street clothes and sucker punched KJ from behind.
I dont give a if they are suspended or not. I am more pissed at the Spurs and espescially Horry than anyone else. Not only do you give the suns new life and give them the series edge but you make us look like complete ASSES while doing it. way to ing go guys. I just hope the Pistons can win the championship now. After the Spurs are ousted detroit will be the only team left I respect.
CiA PoP to Rob "Get as many of them off the bench as possible.
^-----------JoKe-----------------^
I really want to play Suns with everyone and not handicap. What happens happens tho
I'm pissed as all at Robert Horry for this.
The check (and it was a good hard unnecessary body check, that's all - hardly the dirtiest move ever) was a really poor decision.
And according to the rules of the game, Amare and Diaw should be suspended. It's an aspect of the game you may like or hate, but those are the rules. Just like offensive fouls and no handchecks on the perimeter.
But if the league wasn't already pissed off at the Spurs and the low rating prospects, then now they are, because they have to suspend Amare and Diaw and if they don't, they eat egg.
But then the excuses start for everyone. If the Spurs manage to pull it out, it'll be tarnished by that play.
ing bad move Robert Horry.
Plenty of confidence. I'm just pissed that all the whining the last 3 days paid off by the Suns because the refs let them beat the out of the Spurs all game tonight.
That foul by Horry was all of that bubbling over, from the elbow by Raja to Oberto's grill, to Nash shoving off on Parker and then giving a forearm shiver to Manu, to Thomas flat out punching Duncan in the back while the refs sucked on their whistles.
I'll offer an even trade - Raja had a high 'bow on Oberto and then came in and elbowed Horry in the grill in retaliation late. Suspend him, let Amare and Boris stick around.
It ain't right if Horry gets suspended for one play when Raja got away with two, and I'm calling out the league on Amare and Boris because if not they're a bunch of hypocrites. They already gave Phoenix tacit approval to mug the out of us by upgrading Bowen's flagrant and looking the other way for 48 minutes tonight while Phoenix mugged the out of the Spurs.
Now Phoenix should pay for that , and if their own idiocy s their team over, then maybe they'll learn something from it. I'm tired of Amare, Mike, Nash, and co. crying about the fouls because they know they can't win straight up.
29 FTs to 14 tonight despite Phoenix playing their most physical game of the series. Total bull , and they deserve to get ed for the last 10 days of whining.
Oh the off. Have you read ANY of my posts tonight? That WAS a good hard check. It was a GOOD HARD CHECK. Read my words. Checks are NOT basketball. They are HOCKEY. I did not defend Horry ONCE tonight and said he should be gone, because that was horrible what he did to Nash.
Get a grip.
We'll see Wednesday. I've been a Spurs fan 30 years. I don't squirm little boy. Alvin Adams is still looking for his first ring.![]()
You're right... you won't!![]()
Certainly not cheap. The rule is in place and has been heavily policed due to other incidents (see Stephen Jackson in the stands beating on some fans as proof) that allowing players on the bench to jump into an on-court fray is just a recipe for disaster.
Now I'm with you in wanting them to play as I would like us to demoralize them on their home floor at full strength. Important for a game 5, imho. But I also feel like it will be impossible for the league to uphold this rule in the future if they let these guys play. This "leaving the bench" rule, along with dress codes, less talking/arguing after fouls were all implemented to clean up the game and a damaged reputation. If the league waffles on this and goes "gray area" then the NBA opens itself up for all sorts of trouble in the future.
Ok.. Since I only post when warranted.. Here it goes .. Horry should be Fined and/or suspended. Boris is going to be Suspended for coming off the bench and Amare is going to be fined due to his star status. This is the most watched and most interesting series in the playoffs right now ..
What the league should do is fine the out of Horry and let 'em all play game 5.
What they'll probably do is fine the out of Horry AND suspend him for game 5, but probably let all the Suns play.
I hope Amare Diaw and Bell are suspended
The entire reason emotions even ran that high was cuz we were getting owned, the reason for that was duncan foul trouble and the reason for that was the blatant miss call when all three refs saw Nash's right foot entirely inside the restricted zone, leading to duncan's first foul
Karma is a in , the suns whined more than phil jackson 2003 and they were ing rewarded in spades, i've never seen treatment like this AT HOME, it was total bull
its natural for emotions to be running high at the end of a loss like that, and if stoudemire and diaw can't keep theirs in check (when they are winning) then them they deserve to be suspended.
Checking in did you see the replay he was standing there with his other teammates on the sidelines he can lie all he wants he is getting run for game 5.

Amare using the CHECK IN excuse
No, you can't. Shut up tbong.
Dude...you are so full of ...did you even watch the replay???
Shaq even called them out, said they knew what they were doing when they left the bench.
And what Shaq says is gospel now?
The stage was set, and the refs looked the other way all game long tonight while Phoenix took cheap shot after cheap shot at the Spurs because of all your team's pansy ass ing whining.
Who was whining tonight???![]()
Ah, too much drama in this series, I wish we could just play it out and let the best team win.
Even Nash laughed it off and called it a good check. What's your problem?
If the Spurs actually benefit from a classless play by Horry which started the whole thing then the Suns should put in their 12th man and telling him to do his best to injure one of the Spurs top 3 players (punch, elbow, whatever)...if you gonna play dirty all is fair![]()
