This team will get it together. They are too good to keep playing this bad. EVERYONE and their Grandpa Willis knows the Mavs will get out of this slump. I am not worried. When the playoffs arrive, that is when I will really truly start to judge these guys. They have the heart of a champion but they have yet to show it. Once they do, things will fall into place!

I don't see how people are saying Dirk choked because he missed the last shot. Even though the events that led to him getting in position for that shot violated NBA rules, guys miss last-second desperation three point shots all the time. Every game decided by two points or less probably ends with a shot like that by the losing team.

Dirk choked by not playing better during the game... lot's of guys would have missed a 3G with two seconds left, and Dirk's 3G% has been a lot lower this season, not much of a shocker that he missed it.

Not that much choking occurs in December games anyway, and I enjoy the clutch win by the Spurs, but for real.... saying Dirk choked for something everyone on the Spurs roster has probably done at some point in their careers... I lawled.

I'm going to hear all the "this is the second game of the regular season" and "we started 0-4 last year" and "Josh Howard didn't play" and "you're not a real Mavs fan if you don't wave your pom-poms at all times" all that other bull for what I'm about to say, but screw it I'm gonna say it anyways.

This game tonight proved to me that the Mavericks have not learned ONE ING THING from last season.

*They got blown away by a more athletic team that likes to run.

*Their "defensive specialists" did on defense and even less on offense.

*Avery still lets Stackhouse run wild regardless of the fact that he obviously is not feeling it with his shot. If he's going to brick everything he throws up there, why the doesn't he just take him out and see what Ager's got? It can't be any worse.

*Dirk blew it in crunch time.

I have no doubt that this team will win 55+ games and make the playoffs easily. But to see them not learn ANYTHING this offseason and immediately the bed against a more athletic team right off the bat really pisses me off.

If this was a loss to Utah or even Portland, I wouldn't be pissed. I'd completely shrug it off as no big deal.

It's because of the fact that this was a loss to a team that basically copied the Golden State strategy and we still couldn't do to stop it.

0-1 vs. athletic, running teams. That's the only regular season record I'm interested in for Dallas this year.

I liked how "we're going to give Mo Ager a shot" turned into "well make that one half of one game".

Kind of like Parcells giving Drew Henson a shot but pulling him at halftime of his first start.

Then again, maybe Ager is about as useful as Henson.

I just want him to get a fair shake before being cast aside.

Nothing is wrong with the Mavs. I like what Avery is doing. This team is pacing themselves. They are fine. They will turn it on eventually. They are a great team and Im not worried just yet. Spurs were 14-11 and even 9-10 at one point in the season and they managed to get it going. The Mavs will too. They are conserving alot of their energy. I know this will pay off in the end. I feel something VERY good is going to come out of this. This is a blessing in disguise.

I'm starting to think either one of two things, or possibly some of both:

1. The loss to the Warriors mentally crippled them for good, and they are done.

or

2. The De-Emphasize Dirk idea is killing them (although he wasn't de-emphasized tonight). They are only going to go as far as he takes them, and he needs to realize that and step up.

If I were the mavs, I'd trade Terry. He always get torched "guarding" the opponent and for every hot shooting night he has, he has 10 nights of worthlessness + thug wannabe.

Trade JET? that. He is a cold blooded killer. Keep this team in tact. This is going to work out for the Mavs. People need to stop worrying. They are a GREAT team! Dirk is a true warrior when he wants to be. This team is so ing good that them taking nights off wont last much longer. Avery is among one of the best coaches in the game and I trust him. I know this team has it in them to get through this laziness/early adversity.

The drug I am on is faith and belief in this team. They will get through this. I KNOW it! I ing believe in them so much! Sure I get frusterated but I am going to remain optimistic until we are actually eliminated from le contention
