Please remember that San Antonio took in thousands of Katrina victims. We worked 24/7 trying to take care of them all - I was in the Levi Strauss shelter and saw it with my own eyes. San Antonians are compassionate people and they proved it when they went way beyond the call of duty during this crisis.
People just get carried away here sometimes and say things they'd never say otherwise. No one thinks that Katrina was funny.
The the biggest piece of whining/ ing BS post I've seen so far. You hornets fans are trying too hard, and it's funny how hyped up are, just being in the conference semis. Get over yourselves. You haven't won , but ONE playoff series.
Thankyou Sasha, that was refreshing, and glad to hear you helped out. It's so hard for people to understand what it's like for an entire region to have their lives changed in the blink of an eye. People don't understand that Katrina is still something we suffer with every day of our lives. Everything I owned was flooded and molded, my office the same, half my clients gone, my fiance now wife moved an hour away, my best friend and roomate at the time moved to Lafayette. My other best friend to Gonzales. I played flag football every sunday, that field is no longer useable, and half my team is in different states. You name it, it will never be the same. And I lived in Metairie, a mostly unaffected area. Doesn't do much good when the roof rips off. And that's not half as bad as most every Hornets fan you run into had it. None of these people here would dare come to NO and make a Katrina joke. That's a fact. We know that, but it still won't stop the reactions.
exactly! katrina is far from over....will be there for 50 years still from now....you dont joke about that....not even with things that are over....and specially a thing that is far from over...just go down there in new orleans and take a look...all those guys that have made fun of it here.....just complete idiots....
this basketballteam is just helping the city alot and people as general . Gives hope for everyone
SpursTalk, not HornetsTalk. No one gives a what you think.

Anybody who makes jokes about the victims of Katrina are stupid mother ers. I don't care whose basketball team they support. People in La were ravaged--they lost homes, relatives, and part of the culture which will take time to rebuild.
Have a heart, dammit! Basketball is a game. Katrina was a disaster that will take decades to cope with. The images of people dying in wheel chairs outside the Superdome was something I will never forget.
God bless the Katrina victims.
Why do I feel like this nets troll is not original......
-suns
-mavs
-any team who comes close to beating us
Indeed, what is the excuse?
And don't say Katrina, that is played out.
So now he is back from flu...once again? :-)
ah joking...the game was as predicted and what i wrote...hornets ddint had a chance in this game...they look forward to game 7 in new orleans and...its tough to win at road..this game was over before it even started
whats the excuse????????
HOMECOURT
thats always the excuses...the only one
FOR BOTH TEAMS
stop the refs ...voodoo .....flu ....we just played bad ..
teams are EVEN...homecourt dictates
as i said....i wish we played at neutral ground game 7
since we play it in new orleans.........i think you are out ...but anything can happen....hornets are a young team and can get affected in game 7 even at home
but...wat dictates it ...is homecourt....and that we have advantage and better seeding...hey.....maybe the games is REGULAR SEASON....after all will have the last significance on the outcome....you shouldnt have lost those games...that was deciding
but i dont have a clue whats happening in game 7...anything can happen in such wild cir stences..
blah blah blah......blah blah
CAPITALIZE
katrina.....blah blah
you were better today....there is nothing there...wanted it much more than hornets...shot better .....its logical....nothing there....you play better at home...we play better at home
Injuries are key to Spurs Championships. Its looking damn good now.![]()

I'm so sorry to hear all this, but I completely understand. I met some of the nicest people I've ever met in my life during the two weeks I worked at the shelter, and some of them have stayed here in San Antonio. They're very good friends of ours now, and one family lives right down the street.
I'll tell you what I learned from that experience, as trite as it sounds: I learned that we were far more blessed by being around these wonderful people than they were to be around us.
You're absolutely right that no one would dare go to NO and make a Katrina joke. I'm just really sorry that some of us are doing it here and hiding behind the anonymity of a computer.
Having said all that, Go Spurs Go!!!![]()
No one gives a about Katrina, only people that act like they do are politicians and people that want to keep their job.
Peja, I think you're right about that, and that's a good thing.
Eh, I'll take it easy on you guys....
You really need to get a life.![]()
Very Good post. The answers for many of your questions is that most of us,we are LATINOS - somos latinos -. Latinos are very passionated people, many times we have more blood than brains. We love the basketball a lot and we are proud of our team, builded with internationall players that play as a team (something not very usual in nba). And we think that game 7 is ours. VAMOS LOS SPURS CARAJOOOO.
Please don't take this wrong - I'm saying it with great seriousness: You've made up a wonderful new word - Passionated - and as a writer I fully intend to use it. Thanks! (I believe the word you wanted was Passionate, but I like Passionated much more.)
And, what does Carajoooo mean?
Thanks again!
STFU writer. Go edit daddys diary of how he bun holed you. I'm sure thats why you are passionated about the copy rights of the new word you discovered.
I'm serious. As a chatter on the internet I fully intend to use you as a example of a deucebag. Thanks. (I believe you need to figure out why you can't get a hard on)
And, what does head mean? Forget that deucebag, I re-read you're post!
Thanks again!!
You mean bag.
Youre welcome
The Hornets do have great "potential", but it's entirely possible that they could become just another Jazz of the 90's, or end up like this decade's Suns or Mavs.
All good teams whose fans got all hyped up and the media portrayed them as the "future of the NBA", while the Spurs methodically went about winning championships.
You have to earn it.
I was hoping I gave him a new word too.
