Josh, Dirk, Najera and Devin are just about the only draft picks we've had worth a crap in quite some time. Oh wait, we technically didn't draft Dirk or Eddie, just acquired them on draft night.
And you got rid of devin

I've tried to see the pro-Kidd side of it for quite some time, and we weren't winning a le as is, but you don't trade a 25-yr-old making $8 million a year for a 35-yr-old making $21 million a year.

Yeah, Kidd comes off the books next summer, but there won't be any cap relief involved since we'll still be way over. So we lost Devin for basically nothing. Maybe a HOF coach like Jackzen, Pop, Riley or Sloan could've made that trade work, but we had Avery.

At this point in his career, you need athletes and shooters to surround Kidd with. We're short on both. A Kidd-Miller backcourt would've been terrific.

    Thanks breath!

They were saving KVH for that move, i don't know if it was before or after the Grizz decided to hold out with Cardinal though. I just don't get why they went through with the deal after that, you're right a Kidd Miller BC would have been phenomenal. But the roster now is horrid.

hmm.. didnt flip murray lead the lead in scoring for about a month when he was with the timberwolves? i remember him having a couple of game winners and averaging over 25 ppg to start off the 03 or 04 season.

smush parker actually was averaging over 20 ppg a few years ago for the lakers the first week or two...

    Glen Rice dropped pretty quick.

Nick Anderson was putting up 11 pts and 5 rebs in '99, and then dropped to 1.8 pts and 1.2 rebs the next year.

    Larry Hughes.

Tom Gugliotta was putting up 17 and 9 in '98, and 2 years later was averaging 6.4 and 4.5.

I loved the guy, but Terry mings went from averaging 17.3 and 9 rebs to 3.4 pts and 2.4 rebs from '91 to '92.

Kenyon MArtin was due in some part to injuries, but that guy sure dropped quickly too, from star to scrub.

I was about to mention that. It's funny how missing free throws in a Finals game can ruin a career.

Alot of you guys are really reaching here..the thread says "players who fell from the top in record time" not fell from mediocrity to nothingness. Nick Anderson, Vinny del Negro, tariq abdul wahad, etc were never on top.

I'd say Michael Finley could be one because he went from being a 2 time all star and fan favorite to everybody in Dallas hating him in just one season. I know he's gone on to be a decent role player for the Spurs but it's not the same.

Why do Mav fans hate Finley? He gave you guys some great years. That would be the equivalent of Pacer fans booing Reggie if he came back to Boston.
