I believe Rockets #30 mentioned him in a broadcast or two this season
overrating him? hardly.
I think he will be clearly better than Horry and Oberto. Better than Kurt Thomas at everything except defense.
He will be the best big man for Spurs behind Duncan. easily. that's not saying much so how is that overrating him?

so this means you're ready to take the bet... let's say on average rebounds for the season... i say there is no way he will average more than 7 rebounds...![]()
from what I remember, Ferry knew all about Mahinmi and he was in on the scouting and the varied cia methods the Spurs went through to keep it quiet. When he left for Cleveland and had to promise the Spurs not take him. As the story goes, Cav scouts already had Mahinmi's name on a list of possible second rounders.
that's not fair. we don't know how many minutes Pop will play him since we don't know the full roster for next season.
but I'll give you this. I say he will average .2 rebs/minute .3 pts/minute or better. that's good enough for 12 and 8 in 40 minutes.
that's similar #s to Scola BTW..![]()
There are very few of us who think he'll do that.
He's gonna deliver, but saying +7 is quite a stretch.
I would be happy if he has a similar game to Dorrell Wright... which is what I expect. More defense related and high energy mixed in with some mistakes and inconsistency.
i am not really sure if he's gonna spend more time with the Spurs vs. the Toros... if he was ready to put number like Scola's rebounding and points wise per minute he would have made the team already this year... i truly wish he is the new Amare Stoudamire... and i hope he proves me wrong... till then... bust![]()
bust huh?
so then why are you not taking my bet?![]()
I think ian mahinmi will be a factor next season. i watched few games in D-league last season and his athleticism stands out and improvements in offense around the basket.
Good work
