Donald Trump Embarrasses Himself During Remarks To Pro-Ukraine Conference

Donald Trump humiliated himself today with a barrage of awkward embarrassments while he was addressing a pro-Ukranian conference by video in Kiev.

It looks like a bad Saturday Night Live sketch, but the video above is really Donald Trump looking like a fool while complaining about the sound system and apparently waiting for a language translation that doesn’t exist. Trump’s remarks contained several awkward and uncomfortable pauses.
The big takeaway from this video is that when Trump’s sentences are slowed down, he is not able to distort and distract with a barrage of gibberish, so it is clear that he is saying nothing.

The video speech, which was promoted as a huge event, was given in Kiev, and featured such Trump gems as, “It is a big problem… and it’s a problem that is taking place all over the world with respect to the United Sates. There is a lack of respect for our president and there is a lack of respect for the government itself.”

In short, the speech was five minutes plus of Trump very slowly revealing that he knows less than nothing about foreign policy. In the bizarre timeline of the strange rise of Donald Trump, today’s fiasco is definitely a major highlight. After watching Trump look like a total amateur, it makes perfect sense why he conducts most of his media interviews by telephone.

His performance was embarrassing. Trump had zero political skills and was unable to overcome the slightest obstacle. When the billionaire was taken out of his controlled environment, he was exposed.

Donald Trump is on top of the Republican polls. He is poised to become the leader of the Republican Party, and he just gave one of the most embarrassing speeches you will ever see

The 5 Times America Elected Donald Trump

Still think Trump is a long shot? History says otherwise.

If you can't believe that Donald Trump is still the GOP front-runner, then consider this: America has elected the likes of The Donald before.

There are, deep in our history, plenty of men who brazenly exploited nativist sentiments to win the White House or strengthen their grip on the office.

Here are five US presidents who, if they lived today, might, in Trump's words, "make America great again."

Cannot change Medicare or Soc.Sec. and still win elections

[At CPAC, Trump said}: "As Republicans, if you think you are going to change very substantially for the worse Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security in any substantial way, and at the same time you think you are going to win elections, it just really is not going to happen," Mr. Trump said, adding that polls show that tea partyers are among those who don't want their en lements changed. "What we have to do and the way we solve our problems it to build a great economy."

Source: 2013 Conservative Political Action Conf. in Washington Times , Mar 15, 2013

Social Security isn't an "en lement"; it's honoring a deal

Social Security faces a problem: 77 million baby boomers set to retire. Now I know there are some Republicans who would be just fine with allowing these programs to wither and die on the vine. The way they see it, Social Security and Medicare are wasteful "en lement programs." But people who think this way need to rethink their position. It's not unreasonable for people who paid into a system for decades to expect to get their money's worth--that's not an "en lement," that's honoring a deal. We as a society must also make an ironclad commitment to providing a safety net for those who can't make one for themselves.

Social Security is here to stay. To be sure, we must reform it, root out the fraud, make it more efficient, and ensure that the program is solvent.
Same goes for Medicare. Again, people have lived up to their end of the bargain and paid into the program in good faith. Of course they believe they're "en led" to receive the benefits they paid for--they are!

I would impose a one-time, 14.25% tax on individuals and trusts with a net worth over $10 million. For individuals, net worth would be calculated minus the value of their principal residence. That would raise $5.7 trillion in new revenue, which we would use to pay off the entire national debt [and shore up the Social Security Trust Fund].

Papa Fred was KKK member, brawler?

Surprise! Donald Trump's Father Was Probably in the Ku Klux Klan

According to a 1927 New York Times article, it seems that the father of billionaire Republican presidential candidate and professional bile-spewer Donald Trump may have had ties to the Ku Klux Klan.

The Times piece, sub led “Klan Assails Policemen” and recently unearthed byBoing Boing, identifies a man named Fred Trump as among those arrested for participating in a brawl between the cops and the Klan.

As Talking Points Memo notes, the Queens borough address listed for the arrested man, “172-24 Devonshire Road, Jamaica,” matches the known lifelong residence of the real estate mogul’s father.

    http://www.alternet.org/news-amp-pol...ter1042191&t=2

Al Gore's father was a virulent racist and proud segregationist who voted against the 1964 Civil Rights Act, but you probably still voted for his son in 2000.

    Donald Trump’s Birthright Citizenship Claim

Trump was off base with his claim that Mexico does not have a birthright citizenship policy like the U.S., and he overstated the rarity of such policies around the world, claiming that “we’re the only place, just about, that’s stupid enough to do it.”

Actually, at least 30 countries do.

A Point of View: The rude, vulgar US presidential election

The race for the White House can appear a ridiculous spectacle to the casual observer. But look closer and it's far worse than that, says PJ O'Rourke.

To outsiders, the US presidential election contest must look rude, vulgar, overcrowded, angry, stupid, and dangerous - a busload of football hooligans.

That is not how it looks to an American. In American Football the hooligans are on the field, being paid to play. We have busloads of presidential candidates instead.

And when those busloads of presidential candidates roll into our towns, we Americans would, if we legally could - first amendment, free speech rights and all that - jam the bus doors shut and send the candidates down the road to the next town, or to someplace much warmer.

Who are all these jacklegs, high-binders, wire-pullers, mountebanks, swellheads, buncombe spigots, boodle artists, four-flushers and animated spittoons offering themselves as worthy of our nation's highest office?

Do they take us voters for fools? Yes. Of course. But are they also insane? Are they delusional? Do they think they have the qualities to make a good - or even an adequate - president of the United States?

Do they think they have even one such quality?

The dignity of Washington? The intellect of Jefferson? The moral stature of Lincoln? The boldness of Roosevelt? The charm of Kennedy? The eloquence of Reagan? Or the gentlemanly nature of George Herbert Walker Bush?

Has the office of the presidency diminished in stature until it attracts only the leprechauns of public life?

Or have our politicians shrunk until none of them can pass the funfair test: "You Must Be Taller than the Clown to Ride the White House Tilt-A-Whirl"?

The two most likely eventual nominees are "Clinton" and "Bush". Therefore the electorate will go into the voting booth, see the names, think to themselves: "Gosh, I'm getting forgetful. I did this already." And leave with the ballot unmarked. Voter turnout will be 6%.

At the moment, the most prominent candidate is Donald Trump. Which recalls a quip by the American political satirist HL Mencken.

"Democracy," said Mencken, "is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard."

"Trump has a high floor," Kanevsky said. "But he could potentially have a low ceiling against a non-Jeb Bush candidate."

Indeed, 35% of Republican voters polled said they would never consider voting for Trump — three times the percentage that felt that way about Carson. That would normally prove daunting, but in this year's factionalized race, Trump was only fifth-highest on the list of GOP candidates shunned by their own party members in California.

Clown Exposed As Donald Trump Admits That His Campaign Speeches Are About Nothing

During his rally in Dallas, TX tonight, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump admitted that his speeches are about nothing.

Trump said, “On Fox and CNN they call it all Trump all the time. And by the way, their ratings are through the roof. If they weren’t, they wouldn’t cover me, I’ll be honest. It’s a very simple formula in entertainment, in television. If you get good ratings. If you get good ratings, and these aren’t good, they are monstrous then you are going to be on all of the time, even if you have nothing to say.”

Trump is saying nothing in his speeches, except the word great and a promise that America will also be great if he is elected president. Donald Trump is gaming the media.

He gets in front of the microphone and babbles on about nothing. For example, Trump announced his plan to repeal and replace Obamacare with “something great.” In case we missed all of the details that Trump was dropping, he repeated that he was going to replace access to affordable healthcare with something great.

The media knows that they are being conned, but they continue to cover Donald Trump’s every move because they are have convinced themselves that Trump equals ratings.

The media created Donald Trump’s surge in the polls by giving him daily free media coverage. If the media stopped covering Trump tomorrow, he would plummet in the polls.

While Trump’s endless media coverage about nothing is annoying, he is doing Democrats a huge favor by taking away potential media coverage from more serious candidates.

Each cable news network knows that Donald Trump’s speeches are not newsworthy, but they continue to give every one of them live coverage. Trump has no policy solutions.

Trump is offering no answers. His campaign is based on the idea that America is bad right now, but he can make it great.
Trump admits that he is saying nothing, but the networks are still flocking to cover him.

Because in America’s controlled corporate media, ratings are more important than informing the public.

Donald Trump Professes "Love" For Fox News Pastor Who Thinks Catholicism Is A Tool Of Satan

Donald Trump appeared at a campaign rally with Fox News contributor and pastor Robert Jeffress and praised him as "a good guy ... I love this guy." Jeffress has attacked LGBT people as leading "miserable" and "filthy" lives, and called Catholicism a "cult-like, pagan religion," Islam an "evil, evil religion," Mormonism a "cult" from the "pit of ," and Judaism and Hinduism religions that lead people to "an eternity of separation from God in ."

Jeffress On Catholicism: An Example Of "What Satan Does With Counterfeit Religion." As Right Wing Watch reported, Jeffress has suggested that Catholicism is a tool of Satan, claiming "that's what Satan does with counterfeit religion. He uses, he steals, he appropriates all of the symbols of true biblical Christianity, and he changes it just enough in order to cause people to miss eternal life." [Right Wing Watch, 10/8/11]

Jeffress: Catholicism Is A "Cult-Like, Pagan Religion."
    [Right Wing Watch, 10/8/11]

Jeffress: "You Can't Be Saved Being A Jew."
    Jeffress stated in 2011:
JEFFRESS: I think part of the problem is we're in this consumer mentality as a church where we have the idea that our job is to build as big of a church as we possibly can. And if we get into that idea and fall into that trap, then we say then we can't say anything that's going to offend people, why, if we preach that sexuality is an abomination to God we better not preach that because that's going to offend the gays or people who know gay people, if we tell people what the Bible says that every other religion in the world is wrong: Islam is wrong, it is a heresy from the pit of ; Mormonism is wrong, it is a heresy from the pit of ; Judaism, you can't be saved being a Jew, you know who said that by the way, the three greatest Jews in the New Testament, Peter, Paul, and Jesus Christ, they all said Judaism won't do it, it's faith in Jesus Christ. [Media Matters, 9/26/12]

Jeffress: Believing In "Religions Like Mormonism, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism" Will Lead People To .
As Mother Jones reported, during a 2010 lecture, Jeffress stated:
God sends good people to . Not only do religions like Mormonism, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism--not only do they lead people away from from God, they lead people to an eternity of separation from God in . You know Jesus was very clear: is not only going to be populated by murderers, and drug dealers, and child dealers; is going to be filled with good religious people who have rejected the truth of Christ. [Mother Jones, 10/10/11]

Jeffress: "Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism And Mormonism Are All False Religions."
    In 2011, Jeffress stated:
"Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Mormonism are all false religions and I stand by those statements," Jeffress said from the pulpit, according to WFAA.
"I feel like I ought to use, personally, whatever influence I might have to try to elect a godly leader and place him in the White House," Jeffress said. "It is important for us to elect Christian leaders who embrace biblical principles." [Politico, 10/10/11]

    Jeffress: Mormonism Is A "Cult."
    Fox News reported of Jeffress:
Jeffress mentioned the word "cult" in referring to Romney's religion when he spoke to reporters after introducing Perry on stage. The comment drew a strong rebuke from conservative icon Bill Bennett and disavowal from Perry's campaign.
But after considerable backlash, Jeffress stood by his definition on Sunday, saying the Southern Baptist Convention deems Mormonism a "cult," though he distinguishes between a "sociological" cult and a "theological" one.
Mormons have "never been considered a part of mainstream Christianity," Jeffress told Fox News. "Mormonism was invented 1800 years after Jesus Christ and the founding of Christianity, and it has its own founder, Joseph Smith, its own set of doctrines and its own book, the Book of Mormon. And that, by definition, is a theological cult, that's all I'm saying." [Fox News, 10/9/11]

Jeffress: "Mormonism Is Wrong, It Is A Heresy From The Pit Of ."
    [Media Matters, 9/26/12]

Jeffress: Islam Is An "Evil, Evil Religion."
Dallas Morning News columnist Steve Blow quoted Jeffress as stating of Islam: "I believe, as Christians and conservatives, it's time to take off the gloves and stand up and tell the truth about this evil, evil religion." Jeffress also said Islam is "a violent religion" that "promotes pedophilia." [Dallas Morning News, 9/5/10]

Jeffress Is Virulently Anti-Gay: "Miserable Lifestyle," "Filthy," Sign Of The Apocalypse

Jeffress Believes Gay People Lead A "Miserable Lifestyle." [Right Wing Watch, 7/27/12, via Media Matters]

Jeffress On Gay People: "What They Do Is Filthy. It Is So Degrading That It Is Beyond Description."
The Christian Post wrote of Jeffress:
In a 2008 sermon led "Gay is not OK," Jeffress said: "What they [ sexuals] do is filthy. It is so degrading that it is beyond description. And it is their filthy behavior that explains why they are so much more prone to disease." [Christian Post, 2/1/13]

Jeffress: Gay People Are Using "Brainwashing Techniques."
    [Right Wing Watch, 10/12/11]

Jeffress Cited Approval Of Gay Marriage As A Sign Of The Coming Apocalypse.
While discussing his book Countdown to the Apocalypse on Fox News Radio,Jeffress claimed: "The Apostle Paul said in 2 Timothy 1 that in the last days it will be terrible times. And that word terrible means lack of moral restraint. And I think we're seeing that everywhere, whether it is the attempt to change the most basic unit of society, the family and marriage by redefinition of marriage. Or the acceptance of perversion." [Media Matters, 2/11/15]

Jeffress Said The Supreme Court's Marriage Decision Was The Greatest "Blunder" In Its History.
Jeffress told his congregation in June that the Supreme Court's Obergefell v. Hodges decision was "the greatest, most historic, landmark blunder in the history of the United States Supreme Court." [Media Matters, 6/30/15]

Jeffress Compared Supreme Court's Marriage Decision To Nazi Germany's Treatment Of Jews
. The Christian Post reported of Jeffress following the Supreme Court's ruling:
Labeling Friday's ruling as another step toward the complete marginalization of Christian conservatives, Jeffress compared America's growing intolerance toward biblical viewpoints to Nazi Germany's marginalization of Jews.
"I think today's decision is just one more step in the marginalization of conservative Christians. I made this argument and have been ridiculed for doing so, but I think it is very legitimate. The Nazis did not take the Jews to the crematoriums immediately," Jeffress explained. "The German people would not have put up with that. Instead, the Nazis begin to marginalize the Jewish people, make them objects of contempt and ridicule. Once they changed the public opinion about the Jewish people, then they engaged the [Holocaust]."
"Once secularists have made Christians objects of contempt, I think it will be very easy to revoke other rights that they have as American citizens," Jeffress continued. [Christian Post, 6/26/15]

Jeffress: " sexuality Is Perverse, It Represents A Degradation Of A Person's Mind."
The Los Angeles Times reported of Jeffress:
"There are a disproportionate amount of assaults against children by sexuals than by heterosexuals, you can't deny that," Jeffress said in July. "And the reason is very clear: sexuality is perverse, it represents a degradation of a person's mind and if a person will sink that low and there are no restraints from God's law, then there is no telling to whatever sins he will commit as well." [Los Angeles Times, 2/21/13]

Well Trump was supposed to give a foreign policy speech tonight -- ended up calling for a 75 year old ship to be recommissioned into the navy.
