Neither is Florida St. Both teams will have a number of players sitting to get ready for the draft
Meh GA might not be that motivated for the game, who knows.
Neither is Florida St. Both teams will have a number of players sitting to get ready for the draft
Good remembrance. Made my evening, GA.
Agree 100.
And if, repeat if GA racks up points on FLA St in no way should that be spun as seeeeee FL ST sucks.
That original starting QB changes everything for the FL ST defense. As in keeps them off the field wayy more then this freshman dude can be expected to. Or is it going to be the 2nd stringer?
This is only partially true.
UT has not had top recruiting classes on a NATIONAL level .
And when they did it was a couple of 5 stars surrounded by mediocre line players. They had good recruiting classes compared to the big 12, but not the same level of depth throughout. Since Sark this has changed, ESPECIALLY with the Oline and Dline.
Answers for QBs they could win with because of surrounding top players around the top QB
Vince Young and Colt McCoy (not near the star due to 3A hs)
Results: in the National le games twice. And the last NC
Also way back the surrounding talent was so good they could win the NC with James Street, a baseball player, at QB.
UT underwhelming OL and DL for at least 13 years.very mediocre to bad on a national level. Things have now shifted.
So the real reason Imo is thinking they could win with skill players without OL and DL commitments (which people don’t bother looking at.) Mack started this crap thinking all he needed was skill and then Colt McCoys little brother Case (noodle arm) for nepotisms sake. Herman just loaded up on WR, crap like that happened. You can get away with it in the big 12 syndrome. Same thing got Oklahoma beat in numerous CFP playoff games with HEISMAN QBs. 3 of them!
Sorry for the disingenuous nature of my purposely labeling QB.
Takes more than a QB.
For UT fans incoming 2024 Collin Simmons DE#1 Brandon Baker LT #2. Daniel Cruz IOL 4* but will be the best center by far
And a bunch of good lineman developing from top 5 classes in 2022 and 2023. This IS the difference Imo. Oh and throw Manning in for the future. Best we have looked since 2009. Maybe with some lack of injury luck it will pay off.

Another + argument for the 12 team playoff. These guys won’t be sitting if there is a chance for the NC.
Best block worn tread.
He follows me around waving pictures of Donald Trump’s naughty bits painted red, white and blue so I ignore everything he posts.
Only been in the top ten nationally about fifteen times since 2000. Probably more top fives than the rest of the big 12 combined. Notice there are no multi page threads in here about Baylor or OU recruiting every year.
Rodermaker will start. He's a Junior so likely starting next season.
Although he won at the Swamp and led FSU back @ Louisville last season; at this moment Norvell must be on the phone with a possible transfer for 2024. Ya he has a cannon of an Arm but his progression in the pocket was disappointing.
Glenn the true freshman looked way overmatched for the moment![]()
He just walked straight into the locker room after the final whistle. Brutal.
He probably woke up that morning full of hope it would be a crowning moment for the program and his last shot at ball after school. Hurt to see reflecting back on the game.
#1. Georgia should be in the final 4,,,,they are 29-1 in their last 30 games and won 2 nationals and the only game they lost was saturday night by only 3 points. If you put them on a neutral field right now against any of the 4 teams that made the playoff including Alabama,,,,Georgia would be favored,,,so how do you leave them out if youre looking for the best 4 teams in the nation?
#2. So with that in mind,,,,the committee put FSU above Georgia in the final rankings,,,,are you in' kiddin' me? If you have FSU above Georgia and they just went 13-0 and won their conference,,,how the do you leave them out of the final 4? FSU got the biggest hose job in college football history.
Haha ya doesn't make sense. Committee talking thru both sides of their mouth
FSU is #3 or #6. Depending which criteria you use
The joke is FSU got hosed and now plays the best team in the country for nothing
Michigan #1
tOSU #7
Doesn't add up. 1 possession game at their field
Washington looks most forgotten
this committee is just beyond ed with this decision,,,,,I can keep going to prove they are wrong,,,,just like FSU beat LSU by a larger margin than Alabama beat LSU,,,,but yet they still take the 1 loss Alabama over the undefeated FSU,,,,crazy ,,,,I dont care about players getting hurt. ,,,,the Eagles starting QB got hurt and they had to use Nick Foles, a journeyman, and they went to the Super Bowl and beat Tom in' Brady(the GOAT) and the Patriots,,,,
Oh, please. When the fellows are sleepin' late of a night, early of a mornin' you seek out old Dale & kibbutz with me. In the downtime twixt kibbutz'in' you look up fine points of grammar to impress me & yourself. tee, hee.
I pray you're right.
The old participation trophy fiend has finally won out. The (4) was permitted to exist longer than I ever expected.
But it is over. Over-over. media "wins" again. The s.
OU recruiting matches UT every year.
And they have had stable coaching every year until recently. Unlike UT
You will also notice OU did not get anywhere on a National level with 3 Heisman QBs. Only Alabama can match that. So what has Bama done in the playoffs compared to OU? Its not comparable.
OU has also been recruiting FOR the Big 12. They have also turned this around by shifting recruiting to OL and DL now.
And now Kudos for the Big 12. The Big 12 is a very difficult conference to prepare for gamewise because of extraordinarily creative offensive coaching. Guys like Gundy realized they did not had the number of athletes UT and OU get so he did some of the most impressive scheming on offense. Guys like Campbell and ISU did some of the most impressive defensive scheming because of all the difficult passing schemes you face every week. Almost all of the most innovative passing schemes had their trials in the Big 12 and succeeded. The basic idea was get your athletes as good as the other team in space. there is a whole book written about this. The big 12 has had by far the most innovative schemes many of which filtered into the NFl. If you want a list of the coaches, its enormous. Most people remember Leach. He is not the only one. This is one reason for me it is sad to leave. The absolutely wild unpredictable games. That UT would often lose.
The reason UT has multiple pages is TFloss and because UT is one of the most popular teams in college football. Very much like the Dallas Cowboys. Great history, done nothing recently. Also when the big name recruiting teams all go after the same 2-3 star player his rating magically changes by the recruiting ranking sites. Some of these guys are clearly developmental choices, not what they have done on a HS football field. Especially in places like the DL. A DT kid rarely comes in from HS and kills it when he has not trained in a college weight room at 17 or 18 years old. UT has a strategy now of looking for big guys, not highly rated in football, who are multiple sports athletes. Especially basketball because they often have superior footwork. UT is not alone in this.
I know this is disjointed but thanks for the discussion opportunity. Working break.
So YOU now interject common opponent and how much a team beats them by? While griping about the committee which I agree did the wrong thing.
Thats every bit as bad as the committee. One team might have a common opponent they slaughter but put in the 3rd team so the score does not get horribly disfigured.
Figures for you. Go away.
And if you seriously think FSUs third team QB is the same caliber as a 3rd string NFL qb... stop. Journey men NFL ers can be great for a game. Problem is teams eventually figure them out after multiple games. But they are still critical to get you by a game or two in the NFL. Maybe more if they can run a very different offense.
OSU kyle mcCord enters transfer portal (holy one year for a young QB, he loses to Michigan and gone)
Dillion Gabriel OU enters portal. Making room for their backup who is supposedly really good. (Thank god for UT, Gabriel killed us this year)
Man, Big Sports Media is really doubling down on the gaslighting today. Every show is making sure to tell me it only matters how you're playing at the time the playoff picks are made and how Bama's QB is actually the best QB in the country.
Somebody got bribed and I hope this ends up being one of those sports scandals that brings a house of cards down on someone. Probably gets swept under the rug with 12 team playoff starting next year though.
