Two things:this got is a sports writer for the Express News
1.) I thought he got fired, but guess it was some other crappy reporters making barely enough to pay for rent in his mom’s basement
2.) Who else do the Lakers have besides Lebron?
With KCP signing for 12M, LA no longer can sign a max free agent even if they got rid of all cap holds and options in their control. So it’s clear they aren’t pursuing a max free agent this year and will turn to trade.
BUT, if they sign anyone else like Randle or others to more than one year, it will still hurt them with regards to being able to offer Kawhi max in free agency next year.
They would still have a lot of work to do with Deng, losing Randle for nothing and other players. That’s why a trade seems inevitable. I believe Kawhi would consider PHI but I also think this is Kawhi’s camp telling LA to get it done now. TO sign Kawhi in free agency next year to a max most of the guys would need to be moved anyways to make the room.

Randle apparently doesn’t want to be back on the Lakers.
The KCP signing means someone offered Cousins a long term deal. Probably New Orleans.
The Lakers will almost certainly amnesty Deng next offseason as there is nobody who will do them a favor to help them sign another FA. That would push their cap number down from $77mm plus incomplete roster charges to $65mm. In either case, they could offer Kawhi the max or close to it.
This also assumes no other long term deals are signed, and Randle isn’t retained + Zubac isn’t retained next offseason.
I doubt Spurs send Kawhi to Lakers. Likely to send him to east unless they get everybody from the Lakers.
This seems pretty crazy, considering it will be his 17th season & you would need to give yourself every shot you can to beat a GSW team that is younger & still probably better.
Brook Lopez already stated a few weeks back that he would re-sign with the Lakers for dirt cheap they were able to land LeBron. He said it sort of tongue-in-cheek, but he meant it. He’s definitely coming back.

Bron didn't care about rings anymore. Any additional moves that the Lakers do to get in semi-contention is just icing tbh.
