"Trump realizes"
Trash's "reality testing" is totally broken as part of his mental illness.
He lives in a solipsistic fantasy world, and suckers in his cult mob base, the bottom of which he screws, while the top of his base knows he's nothing but standard Repug/oligarchy swampy venal criminal billionaire.
He's too narcissistic for that. He knows the lights are brightest on the spot he holds. Heck, if there's any truth his sons could end up in jail, he better stick around for the pardons, tbh...
Cindy Hyde-Smith Says She Never Lost Faith in Mississippi’s Racists
JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI (The Borowitz Report)—Celebrating her election victory on Tuesday night, U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith said that, despite predictions that her state was ready to turn the page on its shameful past, “I never lost faith in Mississippi’s racists.”
“For weeks, we’ve been hearing national pundits say that Mississippi was ready to enter the twenty-first century,”
Hyde-Smith told a crowd of supporters at her victory rally.
“Tonight, with your help, we proved them wrong.”
Hyde-Smith said that, despite the media’s unearthing of a cavalcade of embarrassing comments and actions from her past,
“I never doubted that, at the end of the day,
the people of Mississippi would listen to the racist voices in their heads.”
Choking back tears, Hyde-Smith
thanked her supporters for honoring Mississippi’s storied heritage of hatred and cruelty.
“Mississippi voters do not want to tear down the relics of our Confederate past,” she said.
“As such a relic, I am eternally grateful.”
Exit polls showed that Hyde-Smith
performed extremely well with voters who described themselves as bigots, and
dominated among those who could not correctly spell “Mississippi.”

Missouri just launched an investigation into its newly elected Republican U.S. senator
Missouri’s Republican Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft has officially opened an investigation into how the state’s lame-duck Republican Attorney General Josh Hawley ran his office during the most recent election cycle.
Before the election, the American Democracy Legal Fund, a pro-Democratic Party organization, contacted Ashcroft’s office and claimed that Hawley was using “public funds as Attorney General to support his candidacy for U.S. Senate.”
The investigation revolves around Hawley’s scheme to use outside consultants before starting his campaign for the Senate.
Previously, The Kansas City Star revealed that Hawley hired political consultants from outside Missouri to advise his staff within the state’s Attorney General’s office.
The problem is that those staff members were paid for by the taxpayers, and as such shouldn’t have been used to help with the partisan campaign.
“Having campaign staff run meetings on government property does not necessarily run afoul of Missouri law, as long as the meetings were not explicitly political.
If the meetings were campaign focused, however, they could violate a cons utional prohibition on use of state resources for personal or political purposes,”

if campaign advisors were running the AG's office, that would be a problem too. apparently his own staffers were confused about the chain of command.
a previous Missouri AG went to prison for mingling his elective office and his campaign.
https://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/election/article220870465.htmlAs the months went on, Hawley’s political consultants flew to Missouri for official events and tomeet with the attorney general’s staff during work hours in the state Supreme Court building, where the 38-year-old Republican’s official office is located.
The campaign-led strategy sessions, which began in January 2017, raised legal and ethical concerns at the time among some of Hawley’s employees, who worried about mixing politics with public business. The situation also left them confused about the chain of command.
The political consultants and Hawley’s attorney general staff used private email accounts to help organize at least some of these meetings, and to follow up afterward.
Topics discussed by the attorney general’s staff in private emails included official business such as the budget, staffing decisions, and how to roll out major policy initiatives against sex trafficking and opioid abuse.
“The idea that Hawley would turn over his attorney general’s office to D.C. campaign consultants strikes me as very problematic,” said Brendan Fischer, director of the nonpartisan Campaign Legal Center’s federal reform program. “The attorney general’s office has an enormous amount of responsibility for protecting the health and welfare of citizens of the state.”
