The wall is supposed to be magical and can only be brought down via some magical horn. I'm not totally displeased though because that whole sequence was a beauty to see, but I'm just going by what they tell in the books. Small nitpick on my part.
And the warlock at the tower of the undying specifically said that magic only returned when the dragons were born and that magic is stronger the closer you are to the dragons

Bran is not omniscient. But he does have the ability to know everything. He just needs to put in the right keywords in the search box, I think.

I still think the WW/army of the dead passing beyond the wall has to do with Bran's "mark", and melting the wall is much more efficient than digging or passing through the gates. The show has just done a poor job explaining this point, maybe there will be a line or two next season that clears it up.
And I agree with lefty20 regarding Bran's abilities. Just because he has access to everything doesn't mean he is actively looking at everything.
I think the wight dragon plot lends some credence to the bran = night king theory

My gripes, mainly on the last episode:
-Cercei is a dumb . She's a simpleton. Did you see that there were only 2 dragons? Huh?
She's deluded. I dont know where people think her character is smart in any way when really she has a really simple, narrowed view where she thinks she and her ty army will win despite one other side clearly having a clear advantage.
-Bran's selective recalls.
Barely in the season and when he showed, he didn't lay it on thick on the exposition. Why did he let little finger hang around? And did it really take Sam to trigger him about Alyanna and Reaghar? Isn't he supposed to be in contact with the tree to see visions?
Seems like Sam told him and then he was like oh yeah, this and that.
-Little Finger being at Winterfell at all after the Starks were all there.
So I like little finger's character a lot but for someone as smart as he was, he didn't see the obvious?
First clue of "I need to get the out of here" was when Bran used his own words when they first met and gave him the dagger.
Second clue was when she saw badass Arya sparring with Brianne. YOU'RE IN ENEMY TERRITORY, MORON. GET THE OUT!
And last..

So much for magic being a component of keeping the whole wall up. All it took was some blue dragon fire and it was a done deal. Not really down with how easy it was to bring it down.

Just barely started watching this series 2 weeks ago...it's amazing tbh. I'm about halfway through season 4....should be caught up in 2 more weeks.

There are definitely things that have been somewhat spoiled and things that have been ruined due to current meme culture tbh. still enjoyable to watch and find out how some of these things come to be. like the red wedding, i was expecting it but it was still ed up. and i knew joffrey would die but i didnt know it would be at his own wedding
Finally got my wife watching GoT after years of trying. We just finished up the second season. Forgot how good this used to be. Was amazing.
HBO covering all their bases, will shoot alternate endings to the show.
