Duncan lost to Dirk by only a hair, and he even got more 1st team votes than Dirk.
This years all NBA teams just go to show how much better the West is then the East, 11 of the 15 are from the WC. East is trash aside from LBJ and Wade.
Duncan lost to Dirk by only a hair, and he even got more 1st team votes than Dirk.
If Duncan would just man up and list himself as what he is, a center, then I think he should have been first team as the center. But since he refuses to be known as a center because it hurts his legacy in NBA history then he deserves not to make the first team. Dirk belongs on first team over Duncan for the PF spot.
I would live with Duncan being in the first team in place of Dirk, the difference is split hair.
However, over at Lakersground.net, Laker homers are furious. They were sure Pau was gonna be 1st Team. They are sure he is way better than Dirk too. I just find it funny. If the Mavs would offer Dirk for Pau straight up, the same homers would carry Pau on their back to Dallas.
Gasol deserved 2nd team over Pierce IMO.
I know they're SO re ed over there, no way in does Pau deserve first or second, I think he got what he deserved in third team. But over Duncan? No way, Duncan had somewhat of a down year for him and was a little hobbled down the stretch but he still put up better numbers then Pau and is far better on the defensive end (who isn't..) They're just stupid homers that need to be ignored.
watch out guys. 21 gots is viewing this thread and is sure to chime in with a post about how Pau is CLEARLY and INDISPUTABLY a better basketball player than Dirk.
Sorry to say this KSeal, there are some really nice and objective Laker fans in here, but the Laker fanbase more than anyone else has the biggest subjective bandwagoners out there. Maybe it's the history of success that attracts a crowd like that, I don't know, but there sure seem to be a lot of them.
Actually over on Lakersground he said that Pau did deserve third team, if that is the same 21 Blessings.
Well it's not like I'm not a homer, I'm just not THAT bad of a homer. Pretty much all fans are homers on some level anyways so whatever. Well I've lived in LA my entire life and always root for my home town teams (even the Clippers) so I'm not really sure why there are so many Laker fans that aren't from LA or have no connection to LA, their success is the main reason I guess. Rooting for teams you have no connection to whatsoever just because they are successful is pretty lame.
