That's what she said.
Next the Spurs will trade Bonner for Kaman.![]()
That's what she said.
DO IT!!!!!

Like I said, this forces them into the lux tax area. It depends on how much the ownership are willing to eat.
I wonder if they will try to expand the deal; either getting Villaneuva as a S&T add in, or perhaps Elson (who has a player option, which I expect him to pick up. Perhaps by including Finley?)
Projected 09/10
C - Duncan, Mahinmi
PF - Bonner
SF - Jefferson, Bowen (resigned at vet min), Hairston
SG- Manu, Mason, Williams
PG - Parker, Hill
This is roughly 70.1 million. They would need to add 2 bigs, and do something with Finley (trade or retire)... Even if the bigs are vet min, SAS would be over the tax limit. I suspect there might be more to this trade, say Finley for Elson...
Thanks!![]()
Props to RC for thinking ahead and giving Oberto and Bowen deals that were very tradeable. Great forward-thinking from RC ... for the first time in a while![]()
just heard on ticket 760 @ 1220 today . spurs trade in principle bruce bowen fab oberto kurt thomas for richard jefferson of the bucks!!!!!
No way!!
That's breaking news!
Spurs would be dumb to get Kaman. If they somehow got Sheed to sign for a discount they'd have the an awesome team on paper lol:
Sheed
Duncan
RJ
Manu
Parker
Makes you wonder what goes on behind closed doors. I can imagine something like:
Pop carried the ball from Holt to Tim about Tim taking less on his extension. Tim leaves 10M on the table.
The plan was to make use of that money in 2010, but things have changed.
Pop goes to Holt and says he needs that 10M now to make a trade for a hefty contract and still get some FA help.................
And wwith this trade we also got the legendary long SF.![]()
This is one of the bigger moves the Spurs have made since when?
The Spurs filled a glaring hole today without giving anything up. That deserves major props.
I think they do this deal even if they didn't have some sort of plan to fill the other glaring hole. The center position. But I have a feeling they've got something else lined up. Nothing as flashy as this deal but something that will fill the need.
I don't see a Manu trade, wouldn't make sense. In crunch time:
Parker
Mason
Manu
Richardson
Duncan
Who the would you guard?
His three point shooting is better than I remember and seems to be improving annually.
Relatively durable. Nice trade.
2008-2009 3pt Shooting: 116-292 .397pct.
So do the Spurs have any space to use any of the MLE? Haven't checked the numbers yet . . .
So now that RJ is on the team, does the organization have to revert to the old pink logo?![]()
Richardson?![]()
And If his shot isn't falling, he'll drive to basket to get some free throws.![]()
I can't wait for next season already![]()
HEY!!
It was only part pink.![]()
Actually, it doesn't. Jefferson has an option for the 10/11 season; he might opt out. Personally, I would take the 15.2 Million he's owed, but NBA players make decisions I wouldn't. For example, both Boozer and Turkoglu opted out this season, in the current economy and lack of capspace... I expect neither of them will get the deal that they want. SAS might have had a conversation or two with Jefferson while setting up this deal...
I'm very happy with this trade. i'm curious as what they'll be doing for the backup 3's. Udoka in theory should be gone, Finley... who knows, Bowen might be back? And then theres always Marcus Williams and Gist. Any idea whats gonna go down?
Bas ! Wtf was I thinking? LMAO
Jefferson ... was thinking of the Suns Richardson.
