The Departed is one of my all-time favorite movies. Leo was a major reason for that. I'd pay to listen to that guy read the newspaper.
And I'm one of the biggest Mav-haters in Denton. Any OTHER theories?
I liked anic and my oldest daughter still watches it every few months or so.
DiCaprio was fantastic in The Departed.

I liked both the Departed and anic. When I think of the top actors of all time, I wouldnt even consider Leo though.
Not yet but he will be. Just like Johnny Depp will.
I consider Johnny Depp top notch right now and have for a very long time. Just watch "Benny And Joon".
I didnt add him to my list cuz I tried to parameterize it somehow.
Is anyone shocked I would value Oscar nominations so highly? I'm the guy who thinks TV ratings are more important then NBA les!
Go Evas Go!
I'm goin with Will Smith, Tom Hanks, John Wayne, and Morgan Freeman
Freeman in there reppin for supporting actors
How about Golden Globes?
Brando
Nicholson
Hanks
Jimmy Stewart - I just always liked his acting and consider him worthy.
Wasnt Monos suppose to be gone for a few months for losing some bet?
Oh MY GOD. When i was a kid we had the money pit on VHS, and that part had my mom and I laughing so hard there was tears numerous times. I love that part, one of the greatest laughs in cinema history. doesn't seem like hanks is universally agreeable in the top 4/5, but I'd say everyone could agree he's definitely top 10 ever. I'd say he's very close to top 5, and with a few more great movies he will be there.
So how long did it take to find this forum? No doubt your "Leo senses" were buzzing of the scale?
Or did Dirk4MVP give you a call?
I also loved when S ey Long admitted to sleeping with the French dude (or so she thought) to Tom Hanks in the middle of the night and he was so tired he basically said "Its okay baby, go back to sleep" and she turns back off the light.
Then five seconds later the light gets turned back on...
"YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
I didn't appreciate The Money Pit until I bought and remodeled a couple of houses. The first time I watched it I didn't think much of it. I saw it recently howevah and laughed my ass off. It's gone...I'm now without one.
Jimmy Stewart might be the greatest actor of all time. Even with his universal acclaim, he's underrated.
For the non -leading man types may I add the versatile Gary Oldman, Christopher Walken and Dennis Hopper?
He definitely deserves to be in the mix.
Of american actors, I would say Jimmy Stewart, Humphrey Bogart, Marlon Brando, Rober DeNiro.
Of any nationality, Laurence Olivier, Jimmy Stewart, Marlon Brando, Daniel Day Lewis
If I could pick the four, they would be Olivier, Toshiro Mifune, William Holden, DeNiro.
In no particular order:
De Niro
Brando
Hanks
DiCaprio (yes, I think he's there already)
Not a huge fan of Nicholson as an actor. I like his movies, but he seems to suffer from Tom Cruise syndrome: he always seems to be himself in movies. Nothing wrong with that, just not enough right with it to get you onto acting's Mt. Rushmore.
You could add Chris Cooper to that supporting actor mix.
Audrey Hepburn, Nicholson,Brando,Newman...I like Pitt,Hanks,De Niro,Hoffman,DiCaprio,Stewart
DeNiro
Bogart
Hanks
Norris
Sean Penn
and having the actor require an Oscar to be on you rushmore is ridiculous
Box office success should be a factor as well
Marlon Brando (A Streetcar Named Desire, On the Waterfront, Godfather)
Henry Fonda (The Grapes of Wrath, 12 Angry Men)
Paul Newman (Cool Hand Luke, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid)
Tom Hanks (Philadelphia, Forrest Gump)
Under Consideration:
1. Jack Nicholson (One Flew Over the Coocoos Nest, The Shining, Batman)
2. Mel Gibson (Hamlet, Braveheart)
3. Al Pacino (Godfather Trilogy)
4. Robert Dinero (Taxi Driver)
5. Orson Wells (Citizen Kane)
