Wow 5 pages...I almost forgot that the Lakers are defending champions and have been there the last 2 years....
LOL NBA
jmill with the dagger.
New York Times:
Q.
Do you feel like you still have room to grow as a player?
A.
I do. I do. I think there’s so much more to understand. A lot of it just has to do with winning. It has nothing to do with me as an individual. Just more so, how can I lead these guys? That’s kind of been the evolution as a basketball player. When you first come into the league, you’re trying to prove yourself as an individual, do things to assert yourself and establish yourself. But then once you’ve done that, there’s another level to the game that’s more complex than figuring out how to put up big numbers as an individual. That’s easy to do so I raped the girl easily in Colorado. I've never felt regret over the victim.
Just call me "Rapist".
i think they would still make the playoffs had kobe and co waited and allow bynum to come around into his game
Who on the 2003-04 Pistons is going to the Hall-of-Fame? Name one, let alone two.
Is Tony Parker the other Hall-of-Famer along for the 2005 and 2007 les?
Manu is definitely a hall of fame lock based on his international play.
Tony has 3 rings, finals MVP and is still young. He probably has a good shot at getting in if he stays productive.
In that case, Gasol is HOF material.
Silver medal in the Olympics.
A few NBA all-star appearances.
Gold medal in the recent FIBA championships.
All-NBA 3rd team.
Many more accolades. Isn't that HOF material?
He's an All-Star caliber player who would start for most teams. Happy? He doesn't start for the Lakers because they have a frontline of Bynum/Gasol/Artest and their bench is .
Fail troll thread from San Antonio fan living in the past - wishing it was still '05 so Spurs had a chance at a championship instead of having an over the hill team that can barely stay healthy enough to compete.
Duncan is another, twice over: 2005/2007
Now I suppose that you'll tell me that Parker and/or Ginobili will eventually end up there?........ But you'd be the first to call BS if anyone started a thread pushing that agenda right?
You could also throw in Chauncey Billups 2004.
They didn't make the playoffs because the team was, besides Kobe and Odom, . Too bad they traded a promising player at the time (James Caron Butler) for Chucky Atkins, Kwame "No Hands, No Hope" Brown, and Laron "Zero" Profit. In essence, a nightmare of a year. No excuses though, the team did not make the playoffs.
maybe because he's a whiny little and complains alot
No doubt Manu is headed for the HoF. Pau's international play doesn't hold a candle to Manu.
Manu spent like 8 years playing Euroball, Pau spent around 2 years. Manu's considered the greatest Argentine player.
Manu's awards:
2001 Lega A (Italy) MVP
2001 Euroleague Final Four MVP
2001 FIBA Americas Championship MVP
2002 All-Euroleague First Team
2002 Italian Cup MVP
2002 Lega A MVP
2002 FIBA World Championship All-Tournament Team
2002–03 NBA All-Rookie Second Team
Olimpia de Oro
(2003, 2004 (shared))
2004 Olympics Gold Medal
2004–05 NBA All-Star
2006 FIBA World Championship All-Tournament Team
2007–08 NBA 6th Man of the Year
2007–08 All-NBA Third Team
2008 35 Greatest Euroleague Players
3 time NBA Champion
Chauncey Billups is not in the same stratosphere as Kobe, Duncan, KG. Pistons were a team of 4 2nd tier All Stars. You could also throw in Chauncey Billups 2004.

Add Kwame Brown, and you add insult to the injury
Kobe fails at everything without help. He couldn't even rape a chick without dropping Daddy's name.
But he's not an All-Star, has never been close to an All-Star and will never be an all-star that would not start on most teams.
If you say so. I mean, I guess you're right. I don't know what Phil was thinking having him start 3 years ago for a team that made the playoffs, when he put up a 16, 10 and 5. Or 2 years ago when he threw up a 14, 11 and 4 on 53% shooting for a Finals runner-up. Yeah, that's not All-Star caliber. Look, there's only 12 roster spots per team. There's always deserving guys left off. I said LO was an All-Star caliber player and I'm sticking with that. So he can't crack one of the starting forward spots manned by Gasol or Artest. Big deal.
So Lamar starting over Ronny Turiaf means he's All-Star caliber? Good logic.
Definitely not All-Star caliber when you only play well half the season. Especially him vanishing in the finals despite Boston leaving him wide open to shoot jumpers. Proving he's nothing resembling a reliable 2nd or 3rd option. And you think he's an All-Star, why? Because he can grab 10+ boards in 38 minutes of a play? Let's put Chuck Hayes in the All-Star game guys!
Lamar has never been a "deserving" guy to get left off, else the coaches would have put him in by now. You obviously don't watch him on a game to game basis and your knowledge about him is laughable considering you think Lamar could still play the 3 effectively.
