SJax or (reluctantly) Iggy or just tank the season and try to pull a draft lottery miracle out of our ass like the Spurs.
To draft Harrison Barnes or Perry Jones? It might have made some shred of sense if Kyrie Irving hadn't gotten hurt, but now?

    Nono, Igni;

As friend of both, it'd be cool if the personal battles happen wall to wall and/or in a thread specifically opened for it if you wanna go public about it.

You guys are showing off stuff that I don't think it adds much to the thread and makes it tougher to read to the rest of us.

That was the most polite way I could think of asking , no mod complex.

I can understand that, Jet has had issues in the postseason, but until we find a capable replacement which we hope Roddy will be, we will have to rely on Jet

The Lakers came a gnat's ass from trading for Terry at one time. He'd a made a fine Laker/chock full of .

tbh if Roddy ever comes back, another SF really isn't what the Mavs need. Stevenson could probably play a little backup 3 along with his 2-guard duties. They need a backup PF more than anything.
just what i've been recommending tbh. Butler to cleveland for Varejao + trashes

unless you can get stephen jackson on the cheap, just don't bother making a deal. play the season out and be first round fodder, then try and reload for next season. IIRC Terry will be a good sized expiring so that could be something teams want to trade for.
you have more than enough expiring contracts this season you must be stupid to not make the most of them. with Kidd/Dirk 1yr older god knows if they are gonna play this good next season. mavs on win-now mode now and that's when you should be doing everything you can to get the biggest possible instant power.

make a trade/waive move on TC if you need to. package TC & butler and trade them for a 17m+ player, then sign him back a month later for vet minimum. haywood will do fine at C during the time w/o TC and when TC returns, we STACKED

    we MF'N stacked

Why does everyone orgasm over Harrison Barnes?

The guy hardly stands out at North Carolina.

    Butler/Roddy/Haywood for Jackson/Diop

non Mav fans, is this trade at all realistic? Would the Bobcats go for it? I'm basing this partially on Jordan wanting to rebuild/Jordan having a hard-on for former UNC guys/Jordan being dumb.
haywood is one of the contracts that are the least likely to be dealt out tbh.

nah nocioni. and this trade is even less likely than the other one.

the only way Philly trades Iggy is if a team takes Brand's contract too. I would do this in a heartbeat. But most Mavs fans think it's stupid because it would ruin their financial flexibility in the future. To which I have two replies - "What financial flexibility?" and "What future?"
iggy would be a good guy to have, but im not sure if hes worth losing stevenson. trigga been doing good this season as a starting SG, or starting 3 in these two games. dirk/kidd ain't having too many more years to play this good, that's why more scrutiny is needed in making a trade.

brand would be too MF'N short to play C so he'd be no more than dirks dub, meaning dirk will only give him a bit more than 10min/game as long as he stays healthy. unsatisfied with the lack of minutes dude would also "tank it like a " pretty much like haywood does

or even this trade, still getting a backup PF without having to take on Brand's contract

    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMa...radeId=2ecttav
mavs need a backup PF with length that rebounds and plays some solid D. TC is our only reliable rebounder now and thats definitely not enough. a doggy big would do a world of good for us imo

mavs should seriously look into the possibility of signing varejao imo, dude plays either PF/C so he'd give cover for both TC and dirk. nocioni would be no bigger than a fringe player imho, just a younger version of findog

I think that Carlisle needs to give Mahinimi a chance at backup PF.

some people complain about Cardinal, but I like the guy. He stretches the floor with his 3pt shot, plays hard on defense, and is constantly hustling. very good and smart passer too.

I can't view the video here at work unfortunately.

Dude is a uva shooter though. The last guard I've on the Mavs who was as fluid and versatile of a shooter as Roddy was Steve Nash, and Nash IMO is the best shooter in NBA history. From what I saw of Roddy last year, there isn't a single type of jumper he cant hit. Fadeaway, pull up, sidestepping, off-balance, catch and shoot, hand-in-face, off the dribblem, while being fouled... dude could hit all of them, and did so quite proficiently, not just one lucky one here and there. Hopefully he can stay healthy and keep working hard like he has been. His potential is sky-high as long as he doesn't give up.
