Kidd used to dominate games while shooting in the low 40s or even high 30s from the field. I don't get why spurfans of all people are giving a PG for not being able to shoot. It was barely a few years ago when Parker gained a halfway decent shot. And he's not even close to being the passer and defender Rondo is.
1. I'm giving Rondo in this thread's context. So, in comparison to the D-wills, the CP3s, the Roses, etc. I know he's a great player, I never said he was not. I just have a problem with him stating he's the best PG, implicitly saying CP3 and D-Will are both inferior, when they clearly are not.
2. Rondo dominates games currently, quite frankly..with the help of all of his buddies to pass to..Shaq, KG, Pierce, Allen..they're all on court with him at any given time, the defense isn't overwhelmed or anything. Kidding aside, Rondo can dominate games. It's just different than when D-Will drops 39 points on 16-24 shooting while recording 9 assists.
3. You're right, Parker did not have a consistent jumper earlier in his career. I will add to this and say I agree he is not close to being the passer and defender Rondo is. I don't think TP is a better PG, I've never claimed such a thing or ever put TP in my top 5 PGs in that thread. This is one of Tony's best assisting seasons and probably best, but he's never been an amazing ball distributer in his career. He's a small, quick as 1 without the vision the elite passers have.
Solid post, hammered all the points I would've hammered.
yeah because Alavarez's post there could've been dumbed down to "Nothing but a peace of bona fide scrub."![]()
What league was this? The Big East?
