If you consider that they could be very literal with the law and arrest everyone, or just publicize one person being arrested for it and see how it works, it's actually more liberal than the alternative.

Don't be lulled into a stupor by the age of the guy. Sure he's just a re trying to be creative, but what if your wedding videographer took footage of you and your wife and edited in all kinds of nasty things, then posted it, without your approval, on youtube. Now factor in your kids. If you have neither you might not understand.

He's not being tried for what it's not.
I understand what you're saying DMC and I'd say that this kid's actions were definitely inappropriate. And if the law is saying he deserves 20 years then it is what it is.

That being said, I think that people are too uptight when it comes to this type of stuff. This is, to me, a fine/probation/community service kind of offence. Not 20 years in prison.

These parents were overreacting I'd say and while they would've been fine to bring a civil lawsuit against this guy, I think pushing criminal charges to this extent is going overboard. Ditto for the registrar situation.

This hysteria when it comes to sexual crimes involving children doesn't benefit anyone. It's not helpful to those who are trying to keep their kids away from predatory individuals, it's not helpful on a practical level, and it's not helpful to society as a whole.

I think that if this sort of offence has someone facing the possibility of 20 years, these laws need a second look.

A waste of jail space for 60 days tbh.

I can't really put into words how annoyed I am at these overreacting parents. Thanks SB, you got my blood boiling right before I go to bed
    100% agreed.

Why was this thread resuscitated? Do we know if he is found guilty yet?

He at least is guilty of using the kids images without permission. This was a close setting, not for public view. I'll bet almost any judge will give him the maximum jail and fine for that.

He won't get 20 years but maybe his next songs could be a Johnny Cash prison type album where he could film in the inmates while he sings to them about the food, gangs and not dropping your soap in the shower.

If you are going to be a big hit in Hollywood you need some jail time in your bio. Look at Lindsy.

Stephen man, the 2nd parnet in the quote, is a ing fraud artist. It's been well reported that the kid didn't perform the song in front of the children, so how could his kids need to see a dr? There's a video of that made on MSNBC but I can't post it cuz their is a pain in the ass to deal with.
How do you know? Isn't it possible the moment the child or friends learned on the video, that they saw in on YOUTUBE? Even if you think the kids were too young to use the computer, there are older siblings within the circle I bet.

I missed this first time around, and the link is no longer valid.

It seems to me individual parents can still sue in civil court for him putting their kid on the internet.

See now this would've been a much more sensible course of action imo.
