Artest might lose it. Pau could fade into even more of a shadow of his former self. Everyone else will play hard. Both teams will play hard.
Over one game and comments by Kobe? Uh huh, You leep believing that.

Lol mad Spurs fans premature ejaculating after the first game of the series. You'd think it was 3-0 Dallas.
It's almost too good to be true. Not only do they go down to a 8th seed making history but they then get to loose AGAIN rooting for the franchise they mock on a daily basis.

Ever notice its often the fans of teams with ZERO les that have issues with the "we" that comes with the fan and the franchise association? Lamest argument on the board. Nothing but sour grapes.

As the t- s that the franchise is giving out at 1st games of series say:

It's "my" life. It's "my" Lakers.

According to all the losers here... I guess they should have said "It's my life. It's Buss's Lakers"
Just remember that when the going got tough, Kobe demanded to be traded. Theres even cell phone video evidence of him telling Laker fans to get ready to buy Bulls jerseys.

Just a reminder that Kobe doesnt give a about the Lakers, the city of Los Angeles or especially YOU, yet you still get defensive every time someone criticizes him.

Yes, because as we all know, when a teammate is hitting a rough patch or having trouble getting into a rhythm, completely denying him the ball is a great way to get him involved in the offense.
It was no rough patch. He was playing with no effort and even admitted so after the game. Said he just didnt bring it. So I guess when a guy isnt hustling and you toss it to him a couple times to see trash thrown up you need to keep feeding that guy until he gets his head in it and gets it right or the clock runs out.

    BRILLIANT!

Nah. Ron had a horrific game one, and that guy seems to be on a perpetual hair trigger.

Gasol only because he's been playing scared since the playoffs started. Or maybe disinterested/tired. Either way I don't know if you can really expect him to break out of it for game 2.

sons what a pathetic, overrated, sack of ing . maybe if Kobe actually knew how to pass the ball then just maybe his team could have won last night. lol at Americans and the media obsessing over "points scored" and ONLY "points scored" by star players instead of focusing on other stats as well. this asshole should be sitting in a prison cell right now anyways. God I hope he blows out his knee in Game 2 and ends his ridiculously undeserving and overrated career.

Bynum is one of the youngest centers in the league. There's no excuse for a guy like Pau struggling, but this is the first playoffs where the Lakers have really been going to Bynum heavily. Dude might need a little guidance here and there. Freezing him out because he lacks aggression early? That just doesn't make sense to me. I doubt Kobe had the mentality he does now when he was what, 22? But he expects Bynum to man up and dominate... come on, it's incredibly unreasonable.

Thanks for making my point. Past glory doesn't mean this year. Lakers fans are gonna find that out real soon.
what point? that past glorys dont count this year? Yes..you are right...the Spurs wont be able to win this year. The Lakers? Last time i checked , we still in the playoffs.

Come back when we get eliminated cuz youve been saying the same the past 2 years.

Kobe is right. The bench needs to step up. If Duncan had the balls to call his teammates out maybe they wouldn't have gotten tossed by an 8th seeder. Instead he's called a ing pussy by Dyess.

I'll take my four rings that are free of whining/ ing/complaining about having the most talented highest paid team in the league.

$91,000,000 isn't enough for Kobe to think he's got a good team.
    lol low standards

He's probably the only former MVP in the history of the league who could miss a clear look at the game winning shot and then have the audacity to say, "This loss had nothing to do with me."

    I mean, really?

    You still bitter...
and son you're still an individual who doesn't live anywhere near the state of California nor have any direct ties to the city of Los Angeles, but somehow you conveniently became a Lakers fan. funny how that works ... let me ask, who are your favorite football and baseball teams as well?

I could care less what he thinks of me, the Lakers, or the city as long as he's helping bring championships. Were at 5 now with him on the team and I'm giddy about getting the 6th this year. The NBA is a cold hard business.

By the way, how did the whole "Kobe demands" saga play out? How's that le count going for your nice sweet little boy Nash.

and BTW... I have gone on record many times saying Kobe is an arrogant prick and a jerk. Most players at that level are. I just love defending him because all you get so upset about it. And look, we are all talking about my Lakers in the process.

If you want to call the next 8 guys on the roster who average $4.5 mil a piece cheap, sure.
Cheap by NBA standards. That's less than the MLE. And MLE players are generally good role players. Players making less are less than good role players.

Because his teammates are massively talented.
He has three very talented teammates. The one with the most talent is playing like a pussy.

And when I hear Dirk about how much his teammates suck, I'll say the same thing about him that I am now about Kobe. But that won't happen, because only someone with the ego of Kobe would think himself as being above his teammates.
See, I don't see a problem with urging your teammates to pick up their play and start playing better. The manner in which he did it is bad form and poor leadership. But only because it was to the media. I am positive that guys like you mention with Jordan and Bird were equally hard on their teammates if not more so. The way Kobe sometimes does it is what makes him a ass. But there's nothing wrong with wanting your teammates to play better.

    Agree with this.

Expecting them to do a lot on the offensive end while you're jacking up 30 shots in a game is kind of ridiculous, however.

Huh? Ron has been a solid citizen as a Laker. You are stretching there big time. And word is Gasol is still suffering from complications from a upper resp infection. Who knows.

son that was about as clear of a look that a player can get and he bricked it. but what more should any of us expect from Kobe? like I have said before he is hands down the most overrated NBA player .... wait no ... the most overrated ATHLETE arguably over the last 50 years. never in my life have I seen any other athlete receive the type of help from the officials and undeserving praise from the media that he has received throughout his entire career.

if you take away all of Kobe's bogus free throws that were awarded to him by the NBA to inflate his scoring numbers, then he would be nothing more than a 15-19 point per game player with a pathetic shooting percentage.
