LOL @ a NBA le being more prestigious than a GOLD Olympic medal. That's like putting the WWE Heavyweight belt being above owning the le in professional boxing.
Yet here you sit on a basketball forum.

Let's face it - the Olympics would be more interesting if it were a corporate interest, where the superstars in the sports are given paramount attention.

Imagine if the football gold medal game had Spain nowhere - but Portugal vs Argentina so they could have Ronaldo vs Messi.

In the wake of some comments about Timmy being a likeable guy I don't won't the world to forget his real leadership qualities...when it's time to represent on the biggest grandest basketball stage of one's life you're true character comes to life....he's not very gracious in defeat and it appears he just completely abandoned his country because he couldn't dominate on the international court...and Spur fan would have us believe this guy can do no wrong... I wouldn't want to be caught in a foxhole with this guy he's a quitter based on his own comments...Plain and Simple...

Before the Olympic games Duncan said:
" It's an honor to be on the Olympic team, period. And, then, to be put in a captain spot on this team is a big responsibility but it one that is shouldered by a lot of different guys. I feel comfortable, being one of the elders, so I will try to do my best," said Duncan. "With Allen and myself, we bring two distinctive ways of doing things, but we bring two ways that are good for the team. That's to go out, play hard and get the job done."
After he brought home the bronze medal here was his comments:
A frustrated Duncan, who said that he is 95% sure his FIBA career is over and that "FIBA sucks," was asked if he felt his frustrations would deter other stars from playing in the Olympics. "I hope not," he said, "I'll try not to share my experience with anyone."
Iverson, however, said the experience was worth it to him and encouraged other NBA stars to play:

"You have to understand that to play it's an honor to play on this team," he said. "It's something you should cherish for the rest of your life. Even without winning the gold medal I feel good about being a part of something like this."
