That "prolific passer" didn't get a fraction of the hype and praise Wilson got after the comparable numbers he put up his first year at QB.
Of course, he's been a great game manager in his young career. Can't take that away from him.

I could care less what color the guys skin is. I care about his performance. Wilson gets punished because the scheme he is in prevents him from attempting the amount of passes other QBs (That are called prolific) attempt, nor does he have a true X wideout to boot.
Does he have a great running game, and a great defense? yeah he does
But don't put Rice in a top end receiver category, and certainly don't discount the guys ability to win games when there's nothing to do but pass the rock around the field, or make plays. And look at that Chicago film, he used Rice plenty. But think about the attempts Wilson gets comparatively.
Brees didn't, that's for sure. Probably in large part because of his size (Which is where Wilson comes in) Rivers
But they sure did suck Brady's . Sucked on that Elway before he ever entered the league, the same with Luck, Jim Kelly, and I'm sure I'm missing someone else.
It's more about the QB having prototypical physical attributes than anything else, well, today at least (Warren got det shaft tbh)
they sucked Brady's after he won a superbowl what a re ed comparison
listing a bunch of QBs who did everything/are doing everything to vindicate the hype they got
people are actually still overrating wilson![]()
Yeah, they all had the keys handed to them as well (Just like Luck). Elway didn't pass for 3,000 until year 3. 15 games in year 2, wasn't on pace either.
And a lot of people were saying, "Get rid of Bledsoe", and "Brady is leading us to victory, we don't need Bledsoe, we can get so much for Bledsoe, it's a win/win". Of course the intense Brady sucking came after he won the bowl, but he was getting similar BJs before becoming the man.
Managed numerous comeback victories too tbh.
Look, is the guy Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Brady? No. He's in year two. But to say he doesn't have that upside is intellectually dishonest based on is current body of work (especially when comparing his numbers to a current top end QB who had a great RB).
...is 100% correct.
Oh I'm sorry, I missed this. Sure he had a 1,300 yard year. But to say he's in the upper echelon of wide outs, as in Graham, Green, Megatron, Fitz etc is something totally different. To discount a MVP candidate in that offense opening things up for Rice is something that is being taken lightly. I never said Rice isn't a good WR, he's just not great. I'm saying he's a 2, not a 1 (as far as ability is concerned). And, I'm sure you'll see better coverage for Rice once Percy returns, and his numbers will probably go up LOL
Favre was also not in his second year in the league when he was on Minnesota. He attempted somewhere around 530 passes that year. Just because someone runs, doesn't mean they're not a pocket passer. They can be a pocket passer, with the ability to run. He isn't one of these guys who doesn't go through their progressions. He has a thorough understanding of everything.
He isn't this:
While having the best RB and a stout defense, so what's Wilson's excuse?
Answer: He doesn't need one. Apples and Oranges. One's a gunslinger and one's a game manager.
Wilson isn't overrated. Seem him since his debut game @ State. Guy has serious skill
Translation: One is a second year QB, one was in the late stages of his career. Go look up Favre's early years.
How was Sydney rice's follow up season with favre the following year?
that was also one of Favre's top 2 or 3 seasons of his career. Apologies if Wilson in year 2 isn't as good as favre at his best
Didn't he miss several games with an injury or suspension that year? I'll look it up, and if I'm right I'll allow you to redact your statement
He missed 10 games that season due to injury. You can offer your apology now.
Why are people arguing this? Didn't you make a pie chart that explains your point? You can't argue with facts.
I'm actually bummed because no life got is supporting Wilson. Not a good sign tbh
No lyfe got was my boy when I was a hardcore Pantherfan. Unfortunately, Schaub stole my heart![]()
His 280 yards in those 6 games were signs of a promising season. Those vikes were already struggling before he went down that year, including rice. This is now his 7th season and the guys best season outside of Favre's magical year was last year where he put up 750 yards. Let's not make the guy out to be Brandon Marshall. Darrius Heyward bey had a 950 yard season in 15 games a few years ago but he's garbage. One season outliers shouldn't be an argumentative point
I agree DHB is not that good, but like Rice he's also had sub-standard QB's throwing to him his whole career (outside of Favre's one healthy year). Btw, Those 6 Sidney Rice games came at the end of the season when the team was already in shambles (and Favre missed 3 of those).
Now you'll say, "How come DHB isn't killing it in Indy?" Let me stop you before you get excited. Rice>>>DHB, and Indy has at least 2 vastly better WR options. There is no better option in Seattle, he's undoubtedly their most talented WR threat.
Still waiting on that apology.
I was provin a point that rice isn't some perennial pro bowl player. Dude had ONE season with 800 yards and you are trying to claim he's a legit WR1 and elite talent that should make every qb look good. And DHB sucks balls. That is my point precisely. Yet his career yards per game is 38 while apparently elite Sidney rice checks in at 45.
Its understandable that Wilson isn't going to put up gargantuan numbers because they have a great defense and run game. Back when Big Ben took over for the steelers he wasn't lighting the stat sheets on fire despite having Hines ward
Andat the "would luck do better in Seattle" comments. Who set those goalposts? I think everyone here would agree that Luck is better than Wilson. Luck is one o the best qb prospects in my lifetime
