League prolly thought this series would go quick and didn't want to give the Spurs an extra couple days of rest between rounds.
It is pretty weird that everyone else is on game 4 and we're only on game 3. It does have advantages, but you still have to wonder why they scheduled it like that.

heat/bobcats have game 3 tonight
Taken together, it makes sense. They assumed the Spurs and Heat would sweep. But that's not cool...if you sweep, you deserve to get some extra rest, do you not?
They do it every year with the favorites iirc. I remember a few years ago there were game 2s in the second round while first round series' were still happening, so exhaustion became an issue. They wanna try to keep a level playing field to improve the product on the court.
Go Spurs Go!
I love those early games!
There's also a lot of TV scheduling involved. Eight playoff series happening simultaneously, some with greater distances between cities than others, competing for airtime with other programs and the NHL playoffs. Assuming the higher seeds would win quicker may be part of it, but this is also a TV and travel problem.
As far as rest goes, if the Spurs win in five and Rockets/Blazers goes 7, they'll still get their rest. On the other hand, they're getting rest between games now, and I think I'd take that and have the players keep off rust instead of having four days off after the series concludes.
What the is up with dirk and Monta?
effing Paul George choker.. better not send this to OT
Lol taking a timeout 2 minutes in
