Yes, you do, or you wouldn't be asking ridiculous questions like this:
You're telling me what I care about? I don't care - I just ask ridiculous questions because I'm too lazy to look it up and am ignorant as I admitted above.

What I'm saying is you wouldn't be asking those questions if they changed the $20 to Ronald Reagan.

You might be under the impression that I'm some life-long republican who worships at the altar of Reagan; I didn't grow up in this country and I'm not. This is the first year in which I have followed politics to any degree. Having homeschooled 3 kids, I haven't had time before now to scratch my nose. I'm wedded to my God and my husband. As far as abortion is concerned I'm personally opposed to abortion for myself but realize that that opinion cannot be forced down people's throats. Guns - as one of the posters here said, I must be clinically paranoid where protecting myself and family is concerned. And no, I'm not in favor of tax cuts - we need to cut down on our debt via controlling waste and slashing spending.

That description is on the topic of changing bills, cash machines, magnetic and optical sensors. Like everyone else, there are some topics I know a lot about and some I know nothing about. But I am entirely at fault on this - I should not have assumed and sprout off on something I know nothing about.

You do realize they're not pulling the Jackson 20's out of circulation, right? You do realize that we reprint currency all the time, right?
    exactly
The stages of conservative reaction to this:

    - Whatever, I don't care
    - This is unnecessary and irrelevant, just catering to political correctness
    - What is this going to cost taxpayers? Don't we have more important things to spend our money on?
    - Stop trying to erase history!
    - Stop criticizing me for voicing my opinion! Chilling effect!!
    Not at all.

Currency redesigns happen every so often to keep up with counterfeiting anyway, so I don't think this really reintroduces any costs that weren't already going to have to take place.

If anybody were really worried about currency costs, they'd be asking to abolish the penny, whose metal inputs cost more than its monetary value.

Prices would be in multiples of 5 cents. no more laughable, "psychology" bull like $99.99.

And replace $1 and $5 bills coins which would last a lot longer than the paper bills.

Americans are so ing re ed, constipated about their currency.
