Like would you vote if you had to sell eight hours of your life a day for 260 days out of the year? Probably not. But most do that to live. Voting shouldn't have that same level of burden. I've never had trouble voting (even in Philly I'd wake up early and be one of the first people in line and get out within like 20 minutes), but if I lived in a state that made it hard, I'd strongly consider not doing it.
Exactly. But it's not because you don't have a choice. Voting isn't that important. People will wait in line all night for Black Friday. We get nothing for our vote. It's basically a symbolic gesture however in large quan y can cause some change. The same is true for dropping your change into the charity box at a retailer.

    There's also early voting.

The fact that so few people actually vote tell me how disconnected most Americans are from the process, since we see no real lasting change.

Honestly, that new TV affects your life much more than your president would. So it's not a bad choice. I go back and forth whether voting should be compulsory or not. I definitely think it should be easier, but I also don't think it should be up to anyone else to drag voters to the polls.

I vote early in Texas. There's a supermarket right down the street from my job, and I just stop there after work, vote, pick up some produce for dinner and head home. It seems too easy to feel sorry for voters who can't do it. But when you have gerrymandering and going on, it's clear that the political system is more interesting in sustaining itself than doing its job.

Macro vs. Micro. The effect of one person choosing not to vote is negligible but scale that up to hundreds or thousands in areas that tend to vote a certain way and you can alter elections.

The classic interrupt and speak louder tactic. That old lady knew her and dude just flat out assumed she knew nothing about what she was saying and she called him out cold and then ran from it. Unreal. You can't talk to the dems. They don't want unity.

Thank you for that. I had no idea.
