100% is 125% to 80%. (1,25*0,8=1)
if player A has X salary, player B has to have over 0,8X and under 1,25X.
This is the rule.
So the Spurs need to trade at least $16,720,000 in salaries to get KG's $21M contract back.Teams can acquire up to 125% plus $100,000 of the salaries they are trading in a simultaneous trade. For example, a team trading a $5 million player in a simultaneous trade can receive one or more players whose salary is no more than 125% of $5 million, plus $100,000, or $6.35 million in return.
Manu+Barry+Horry is $16,682,880. Short by less than 50K. (I originally said about 200K because I hadn't added in the 100K).

So what's wrong with my calculation?
nothing much, i just wanted to tell you it isn't 75%, it's not symetrical (as in 25%) in both ways.
0,8*21=16,8
1,25*16,8=21
I know that.
You quote me saying that the Manu+Barry+Horry combo was off from working by about 200K and said like a smart ass that I needed to work on my math.
So what was I wrong about?
This is a typo. It should say 16M. That's why I was adding in Horry or Oberto's contracts. I was trying to get to 16M. (I thought KG made 20M)You should just have to get to 15M to make the trade work
This is correct. I just forgot to add in the 100K.It's 25%. If it's 21M then Manu+Barry+Horry is about 200K short of working.
is OK.
i just wanted to say buddy holly was not wrong either.
No Buddy Holly wasn't wrong if he was doing 20% less than the bigger contract, but I thought he was trying to say he thought is was 20% more than the smaller contract.
I was just clarifying that the rule is 25% more. It used to be +15% and a lot of places print it as +20% when it's really +25%.
I thought this thread was a joke!![]()
It is.
The Wolves can get a lot more for KG.
I'd rather keep a player with heart and championship chops (Manu) over a wannabe gangster who is overrated and under-performs in the clutch. Keep KG. He's never done a damn thing worth talking about in his career. Manu is a Champion. Not Just NBA. World.
Maybe he's demanding the trade?
I think alot of people feel that way man.
Especially for a punk gangsta with athletic ability but huevos that shrink to b.b.'s when the pressure is on.
You talking about Garnett or GiG?
While having KG here wouldn't suck, I wouldn't want to be in the Spurs ticket sales office fielding the "I want a refund on my season tickets!" calls if Manu got traded.
Yep...here they go. Wanting to trade away our players for another soon to be washed up guy with a big contract.
The Superstar, who once got his team past a first round exit. But, oh, he would be so much better here.
Of course it probably would be Garnetts one chance to get a ring. On Duncans coattails.
Wow, I can't believe a lot of you wouldn't want KG instead of Ginobli. That's friggin unbelievable!!!
with kg, duncan, and parker we would be capped out for a while.
kg sux nuff said.. i would jump into a fox hole with ginobili or go where ever he wants to go
they are capped out awhile anyhow with manu
They'd also be having river parades in June for a while.
I love your video of Wally getting kicked in the face. When did that happen?
probably in the 04 season wasn't sure either
