Why suggest this and get my hopes up...it's not nice.
Allan Ray has been assign to D-League.

Damn, we really don't need another send down. OTOH we are only 4.5 games out of the playoffs.
Beno might be worth holding for the season and trading him on draft night. I can already see visions of the Spurs trading Beno and their 1st rounder in order to move up in the draft and take Rudy Fernandez.
If his name was Robertas Conroytovas Mr. Body would be all over that ass.
The Magette trade has been discussed ad infinitum, ad nauseum. If, in fact, the Spurs are talking with the Clippers about Magette, not many people think either club will pull the trigger from what I gather because they don't want what we are willing to give.
I have a feeling that one of the reasons the Spurs aren't so hot on the Magette deat is that they'd lose two guys who can play some PG, even if they aren't super backups and have no proven player in sight.
Under the cir stances, with Vaughn the only PG backup if the Barry+Beno trade actually materializes, would you feel comfortable about our chances in the playoffs with a third guard who "might be able to play in the NBA this season.?"
Or is the 'dump Beno' thing you're primary motivation? Just asking.
Depends on who comes in on the trade.Under the cir stances, with Vaughn the only PG backup if the Barry+Beno trade actually materializes, would you feel comfortable about our chances in the playoffs with a third guard who "might be able to play in the NBA this season.?"
Do you feel comfortable with the current roster? He and Barry are the most likely to be traded. If we don't get a point guard in return for Beno we'll have to get one. This isn't rocket science.Or is the 'dump Beno' thing you're primary motivation?
I agree. But you said: "I agree that Beno is a better player than either,[conroy or Barea} and "we don't need another send down"
I agree with all that. So aren't we stuck unless we just get rid of Beno for the of it because "he doesn't fit with this team"?
Unless we can find another legitimate PG on a bench somewhere, I don't see much advantage in getting rid of him for another sent down DLeaguer. That's not rocket science, just reality.
The TOROS don't need another send down. From the CELTICS. Who would get sent DOWN to the Spurs?I agree. But you said: "I agree that Beno is a better player than either,[conroy or Barea} and "we don't need another send down"Is trading Beno in a package for Maggette "just for the of it?"I agree with all that. So aren't we stuck unless we just get rid of Beno for the of it because "he doesn't fit with this team"?
No.
You can complain that that particular trade is dead, but I never said get rid of Beno for nothing.
timvp is still in his head while playing poker in Vegas.
Classic.
Will Conroy was called up by the Clippers...
Will Conroy of the Tulsa 66ers has received his second call-up of the season from the Los Angeles Clippers. Conroy was signed to a 10 day contract by the Memphis Grizzlies on January 30th, and is the third D-League player to receive a 10 day contract from the Clippers this season. To make room for the signing, shooting guard Von Wafer will not remain with Los Angeles.
The Clippers have suddenly become thin at the point guard position due to the gruesome knee injury suffered by Shaun Livingston last night. Sam Cassell isn’t totally healthy either (though he plays limited minutes), and the only other ball-handler on their roster is Daniel Ewing.
Conroy will have a good opportunity to earn minutes considering the current injury situation of the Clippers. It can be hard for a point guard to pick up on a system in a matter of 10 days, but Conroy is the best option available at this point in time. He will be in uniform this week when Los Angeles returns to Seattle, Conroy’s hometown. In 31 games with the Tulsa 66ers this season, Conroy has averaged 15.2 points and 10.8 assists per game.

Another 66er, Mike Hall got called up also by the team that originally had him in camp -- the Wizards. I had him pencilled in as a long small forward summer league invite.
Good oppurtunity for em.
If Livingston got hurt before the trade deadline, that trade might have gone through.
He cant be so bad as Beno and Jackie! Spurs cant loss nothing!
Sign him!
With Livingston out for a while Cassell having strained his groin last night we'll probably get to see what Conroy can do in the NBA pretty soon. Should be interesting.
Nah, he'd still be a successful NBDL player. That is, with miles to go.
Clipper Will was extremely energetic waving towels last night.![]()

I'm doing my thing on the laptop, and I hear in the backround "...and Will Conroy checks into the game".
Rumor is that Clippers will sign Hart when he will clear waivers.
Conroy hasn't been lucky with his call out : first Memphis and Junior Harrington then Clippers and Hart.
Conroy is a pass first point guard who'll need to hook up with a team that has quality scoring options. His best fits would be with a team like the Suns, Warriors or Nuggets.
I'd like to see if he could help the Spurs, but that's not going to happen this year.

Jason Hart? I just got here!
Clippers Sign Hart, Release Conroy
5th March, 2007 - 7:51 pm
RealGM -
The Los Angeles Clippers today signed free agent guard Jason Hart, it was announced by Vice President of Basketball Operations Elgin Baylor.

From the "no " file.
The guy keeps getting moved out by pedestrian perrenial bench players. Why do we keep this thread going?![]()
Wouldn't it be vastly more entertaining to have a 'Bring Back Sean Marks" thread. Marks could be the crucial roster piece to winning a championship this year.![]()
Because, for a brief period, people here vastly overrated D-League statistics.
