Yoni, do you have any daughters? If so, I feel your pain. I don't think I could handle the pressure of raising a girl in todays society. I would be the WORST stalking father of modern times.

I have both, in multiples, and I'd be devastated if any of my sons went to the Motel 6, got drunk and drugged up and then started skull- ing 15 year-old girls. Not to mention being videotaped screwing a semi- or unconscious 17 year-old.

I know they weren't raised that way and I'd have a hard time not letting them suffer the consequences of their actions knowing I have other sons watching how I treated their lapse in judgement.

But, I'd be surprised if any of my sons were capable of such an act. If they were, it's been a well-kept secret among my boys and girls.

You sound like a dad that would take a lot of blame if something like this were to happen. It's amazing how much pressure there is involved with fitting in. I know how you feel. I try harder than any other parent I know to instill righteousness and human decency into my son.

Yoni, I get the high morality soapbox you are standing on, I am not going to tell you you are wrong, nor am I going to condemn that belief, it's a good enough belief in and of itself...but your beliefs on how it should be realized are misguided, extremely. I also think that blanket judgements are an extremely misguided line of thinking, there are exceptions to any rule, no matter your personal belief. This was one of them.


I don't think race had anything to do with this...this was all about a mandatory sentence and a jury kept in ignorance of all the ramifications in arriving at a guilty verdict. They as much said so.


The jury was honest...they should be applauded for that. It's the mandatory sentence and strict enforcement of it that was wrong here...
