Can't wait till we play Seattle in the playoffs so we can see all the homers turn on PJ and call him a traitor and every other name in the book like they did to AJ and Mike Brown.

The only person mentioned that I take issue with is A.J. and that is only because he acts the fool.
I had no problem with Mike Brown in the play offs- course it didn't hurt that we spanked him.

As for Coach Carlesimo, I wish him success with his new team( even though he has Ray Allen ) except when they play the Spurs, Raptors, and Orlando.

    Oh ok.....

On June 28, 2007 Allen was traded to the Boston Celtics along with Seattle's second-round pick Glen Davis (#35 overall pick) for Delonte West, Wally Szczerbiak, and the number 5 pick in the 2007 NBA Draft (Jeff Green).

    No problem....

Seattle trading Allen made it a lot easier for us to root for PJ to have success in his new job.

those people are actually pretty rare. can't recall many turning on brown (well, maybe for his offense, but not for taking a head coaching position). and most people are fine with avery taking over the Mavs (he was [mostly] cheered when he came back for Sean's # retirement). however, some of his gamesmanship in last year's series wasn't the most endearing thing he could have done. you would have hoped - at least vs. this club - he would have been above that.

Yes and even better, Allen in the East means we'll see and hear him less.

What a great coach for Durant to enter the league with.
    Durant > Oden

I recall posters 'round here getting upset with Mike Brown because he didn't want to talk too much about the SA-Cleveland connections, but instead wanted to focus on his team. A few posters got upset because Mike Brown called LeBron's 48-point game in the ECF the greatest performance he'd ever witnessed. Apparently, Brown was supposed to mention some game by TD as the best performance he'd ever seen. A couple of posters called Danny Ferry a traitor for going to Cleveland. It was kinda funny

Has anyone heard any reaction yet from Seattle fans on the hiring of PJ? Good or bad for the team?

    Official story from ESPN.com....

Carlesimo inherits young, talented, overhauled Sonics
    Associated Press

    Updated: July 5, 2007, 3:23 PM ET

SEATTLE -- P.J. Carlesimo was hired Thursday as the new head coach of the Seattle SuperSonics, eight years after being fired from his last head coaching job, and ending Seattle's search that lasted more than two months.

Carlesimo, who spent the last five years as an assistant in San Antonio, replaces Bob Hill, who was fired on April 24 after Seattle struggled to a 31-51 record in Hill's only full season leading the Sonics. Carlesimo was previously a head coach for Portland and Golden State.

In Seattle, Carlesimo, 58, will inherit a young team in the middle of a roster overhaul orchestrated by 30-year-old general manager Sam Presti. In the last week, the Sonics traded seven-time All-Star Ray Allen to Boston on draft night, and free agent Rashard Lewis agreed to sign with the Orlando Magic, erasing Seattle's top two scorers from its lineup.

Carlesimo's tasks in Seattle will include the growth and development of Kevin Durant and Jeff Green, two of the first five picks from last week's draft. Seattle selected Durant with the No. 2 pick, then got the rights to Green, the No. 5 selection, in the trade of Allen.

Seattle was the last team in the NBA without a coach.

"He has deep experience in the college and pro game and will immediately instill a highly disciplined, defensive mentality with players that play intelligently and play together," Sonics majority owner Clay Bennett said.

They now have ridnour, watson, and now west..Either ridnour or watson has gotta go but both are making 6+mil for at least 2 more yrs. In looking at this team they are lacking depth at SG behind wally, so maybe, just maybe barry wants to go back to the NE in exchange for west/sene or petro..
