Who was the real talent in Nirvana, Cobain, Grohl, or both? Foo Fighters certainly rock!

Hunters and Collectors 9 times in 5 years, 1993-98. Best live band ever.
Radiohead @ Sydney Entertainment Centre, 1997.
Public Enemy and Ice-T @ ANU Refectory, 1992.
Dire Straits @ Bruce Stadium, 1992.
Nick Warren @ ANU Refectory, 2003.
    The Church @ Tilley's.

I used to be a huge live music fan, but strangely these days I don't dig it so much. I get really sore knees standing around for hours, and that doesn't help... getting old I guess.

I've heard that Fear Factory is notorious for not getting a good sound out of their live shows, which is a shame cuz i really like their work.
it's ok. the past couple of times it didn't sound bad.

Seal - Bronco Bowl '99 with the ultimate who's who of a backing band.
    Michael Landau on guitar
    Tony Levin on bass
    David Sancious on keys
    Brian Blade on drums

Mastodon - Gypsy Tea Room '02. Dixie Witch and High on Fire opened. Mastodon played on an 8' by 6' stage and blew me away

Pantera - Smirnoff. I forgot the year, but it's the one where eyehategod and white zombie opened. It's also the show where Phil OD'd. The lawn was packed. There was 3 pits and numerous fires.

The Mars Volta a couple of years back in Austin. Hate the city, but loved the show. I came away with some skin rash after that show.

The Dillinger Escape Plan with The Locust opening @ Trees(RIP)

I saw SD in 2000 and again last year at the Verizon.
They were always one of my favorite bands.
I went to the same college where Becker and an met and formed the band. (They wrote "My Old School" about it.) We used to look up their senior projects in the library!

They toured so infrequently that I never got the chance to see them.
Glad to hear they put on a good enough show for it to be one of your favorites.

They have always been my favorite band. I met Donald en on the street in 1992 (a dream come true) and he invited me to the "Rock and Soul Review" which was an amazing thing. I had never seen him perform before then. Then I've been able to catch he and Walter live since then and I love them even more!

I completely forgot about The Beasties and House of Pain at Randy's Ballroom. All I can say about that show is in' a.

Pantera with Sepultura (before they split up) and Prong at Southpark Meadows (before they turned it into a ing cookie cutter strip mall) was awesome. I wore a Dallas Cowboys hat and we squeezed up in front of the mosh pit, stage left. Dimebag Darrell (RIP) looked at me, pointed at his head, pointed at me, and held up a number one sign, which I took to mean he liked my Cowboys hat. Then he flipped a pick in my direction, but my head friend Derek caught it and to this day refuses to give it to me. sucker.

I've only ever been to six concerts (three different artists) in my 19 years. Sad, no?

I've seen Weird Al three times (Glen Ellyn, Rockford, and Chicago), Foreigner twice (One down in McHenry county, the other at Eastern Illinois University), and Queen+Paul Rodgers at Allstate Arena....I think the Queen+PR one was my favorite. I couldn't talk because I'd screamed myself hoarse.

Oh, almost forgot, I did see the Chicagoland Pops Orchestra playing music from Final Fantasy. That's up there with the Queen+PR, what with screaming myself hoarse.

I was pretty drunk...did we see y'all there? I know we ran into someone from TR. For some reason I remember it being Alan Johanningmeier. I spent most of my relationship (if you could call it that) with Cindy blasted out of my gourd.

Oh, I'd have wanted to see that. The first Foreigner concert I went to (The one not at EIU) had Bad Company as the opening act...I *think* PR was with them, but I can't remember. I was too busy nerding it up with some people.
