If you are a Christian, may I suggest Christian Healthcare Ministries for $45, $85 or $150 per month (with $5k, $1k or $500 personal responsibility per incident).

The $500 is for the year, not per incident. The $150 per month (together with unlimited Brothers' Keeper) is the level we used when dh was out of a job. For a family, 3 units are needed - father, mother and any number of children (under 26).

    "personal responsibility per incident"

its called a deductible, i.e., the thing insurance companies use to limit what they have to pay for. The fact your Church found a cute and cuddly name for it doesn't change what it is.

"If you need a cancer treatment for some form of cancer that's purely genetic, we make you pay $5000 before we cover anything because we want to teach you some personal responsibility "

This sounds good in theory, but I would be worried about sharing money anonymously. How do they decide who is legitimate and who isn't? This just seems ripe for decent people to be taken advantage of by people trying to game the system.

Good luck trying to find any Obamacare policy (that's not subsidized and not Medicaid) with 5k deductible for only $45 per month. It's an option for him (if he's a Christian) that's better than nothing since he's unwilling to pay $320/month.

It's a legitimate Obamacare replacement - meaning you are exempt from ACA's penalty if you are a member. It's been around and working fine since 1981.

Why do you say a pyramid scheme? I call it 3 different options - less premium/more deductible, more premium/less deductible. Where else could I cover a family of 5 for $459 per month (with $500 deductible)?

It's not insurance, boutons - it's a health cost sharing ministry. There is no "in network" - see http://www.chministries.org/providerinteraction.aspx

He doesn't have to pass any specific legislation - he can just not enforce the penalty - funny how that works with immigration and health care.

Two terrific bungles that had the biggest bestest plans to solve the problems.

I don't trust Trumo to enforce or not enforce anything.

Him deciding not to go after people for tax evasion when they don't pay the penalty is different than "eliminating the penalty".

My guess is that mavsfan1000s income was so ing low he's exempt from paying the penalty and somehow confused that with Trump repealing the penalty

Has he decided on doing that? I thought he was only using that threat as leverage in the buildup to the AHCA. If Price actually zeroed out the penalty by not enforcing it wouldn't that collapse the market right away?
