It seems that way. I know the staff feels pretty good about where they stand right now. Great tweet on Agholor over the weekend. Hope it works out.
FSU is definitely still in the Agholor sweepstakes, as is Florida, but there's a lot of chatter about USC and Texas as Possible leaders.

Good stuff over the weekend, guys. Here's some other stuff I came across:
*WR Cayleb Jones chipped a bone in his left ring finger over the weekend at the Champion Gridiron Kings 7-on-7 event and is slated to miss at least six weeks. Hopefully it won't affect his high school season.
*Speaking of that event, WR Thomas Johnson was arguably the top performer in attendance depending on who you talk to. Supposedly had a great weekend.
*We talked about this guy briefly back in February as a possible DT offer, but Zorrell Ezell of Humble has committed to Baylor.

*Big news of the weekend was 2013 OL Kent Perkins of Dallas Lake Highlands visiting the UT campus. He wasn't able to make any of UT's summer camps but finally made it to Austin. I think he's a Junior Day offer and likely commits on the spot next February.
*Finally...just a reminder that five-star OL Andrus Peat of Tempe, AZ will be in Austin today and tomorrow. Time to roll out the red carpet.
Obviously a great get for the Ags. If it's true that Stewart is already throwing in the 90s from the mound and he's not even a junior in high school, it'll be interesting to see if he has to make a choice between football and baseball at some point.
Nice quote from 2013 OL Kent Perkins after his visit to UT:
“I didn't think it was going to be that awesome,” Perkins said. “They definitely gave me a lot to think about.”
OU received a commitment from this guy over the weekend:

The UT roster has been updated with the freshman class:

To update on QB Connor Wood...there were lots of rumors floating around going into the weekend that he wasn't enrolled in school and was absent from workouts with the team. I think the rumor started over at Inside Texas (they're usually accurate), but those reports look to be false. It may end up being a moot point, however. Wood has been a transfer candidate for a while now and is the most likely to do so out of the four QBs on the UT roster.
Here is a recap of the Champion Gridiron Kings 7-on-7 event. The Southwest team full of A&M and Texas commits won the entire thing and QB Matt Davis of Klein Forest was given Offensive MVP honors.

Team Southwest's victory photo. UT commitments LB Tim Cole and DB Bryson Echols are to the right in the middle row. WR Cayleb Jones isn't present.

Interesting note I came across this weekend has to do with ATH Corey Coleman of Richardson Pearce. He's been blowing up the camp circuit and both Cal and UT have called his high school coach in recent days to inquire. I guess his performances at Nike's The Opening and the Champion Gridiron Kings have been simply too good to ignore. That should make BFLT happy.
For those that are wondering, OL Andrus Peat is scheduled to be in Austin around 1 p.m. and he will be accompanied by a family member. I know for sure that it's not his father because he's recovering from hip surgery, but I've seen a rumor that it might be his grandfather. I'll let you know when I find out more.

At the airport about to leave for Texas
FWIW...RB Fozzy Whittaker predicted that QB Garrett Gilbert will start for Texas against Rice, according to an interview he did this morning at Big 12 Media Days. Not a surprise at all, but just interesting to hear someone say actually say it.
Ugh!
AndrusPeat
My flights delayed an hour..
This probably pushes his arrival on campus back to some time after 2:00.
To follow up on this...Hook 'Em 24/7 reported what I wrote above, but they also mentioned this morning that there's a rumor going around Big 12 Media Days that Wood is no longer with the team. Not sure what to believe at this point, but I don't see how he sticks around if McCoy and Ash get snaps before he does.
Lots to keep up with this morning...forgot to mention that QB Connor Brewer did not make the finals of the Elite 11 last week in Malibu, CA. BYU commitment, Tanner Mangum, was the camp MVP.
Nice to hear that, but I wouldn't book anything until he signs on the dotted line.
Floss I read that Stewart is also an excellent third baseman, his coach called him the best third baseman they've had in a long time. Great athlete.
I just read that Agholor's father works for the University of South Florida. It's interesting that they're not bigger players in his recruitment.
Perkins probably commits on the spot. Texas has actually done a ton of leg work on Perkins. I have a cousin that is in the Lake Highlands football program tell me that Texas has been looking at Perkins since 8th grade. My cousin is a year behind Perkins in school.
I really, really like Coleman. Coleman's camp performances have justified my affection. Coleman is as good or better than message board favorite Kendall Perkins. I like Coleman's versatility more than Daniel Brooks' skill set.
Junior Day 1 has potential to be pretty exciting if Texas has a respectable season. UT likes their posi oning with a handful of these guys.
I would have no problem it UT decided to offer Coleman that last DB spot. I know Muschamp was on him early when he was a part of the staff. He's going to be a good one. FYI Bill...I read that DB Colin Blake is pretty much waiting on UT's next move to decide what he'll do.
