No one knew of kawhis medical state except for him since he was allowed to have full control of his rehab by the spurs and the spurs kept on making remarks that he was already healthy.
Cris Carter's agent back when he entered the NFL draft was Mitch Frankel, Kawhi's current agent. I'm not sure why he doesn't mention that.

Basic problem is Kawhi has a NFL agent. Any holdout will result in loss of pay as well as only extend the Spurs' rights to his services. It's not as simple as expecting to run the clock out and become a free agent.
