I know 100% that Malone will end up in San Antonio, it's just a matter of when. As I've said earlier, I bet he decides the day before the All-Star game so that he gets all the hype and exposure in the big game.

that is an idiotic post-we dont have any contracts done before the new CBA. Duncan would have been given much more money if his contract would have maxed out at like 13, shaq makes what 30. We have locked up our big 3, why would we want to waste money on Malik-he sucks

What part of that post is incorrect? The new CBA isn't going to change much with respect to player contracts other than the length. It won't result in the Spurs seeing a significant increase in their payroll relative to other teams.

There are only 8 teams with higher committed salaries for '05 - '06 than the Spurs and that's counting Shaq resigning with Miami. A few may go higher after resignings but Spurs will likely be in the top half of teams paying out salaries next year, particularly since they've indicated that use the MLE. The cheap talk is nonsense. Prudent yes. Cheap no.
