I remember the Democrat Senator saying that "the bullet was designed to splat somebody’s guts out"....
Then sales went through the roof...The dealers could not keep them in stock....![]()
You are correct JimBob...Winchester folded under pressure and pulled them from the market but they aren't illegal...they still make basically the same bullet with just minor modifications (called the XST) Hydrashocks and golddots work equally well...Perhaps I am wrong but “Black Talons” have not been available for 10 years....

I know Jess, and I know what she's saying sounds odd to you, but she means it.
I believe it. Takes all kinds of people, as the saying goes!
actually it was the AMA lobby that got them talking about it...it was a 6 petal hollowpoint that had sharp points on the petals...a couple of doctors cut their rubber gloves on the points working on gunshot victims and with the AIDS scare tried to get them banned...
Load some of those dragon fire s s in your shotgun.
you mean Dragon 's breath? LMAO...well...I guess after you burn the house down you won't have to worry about robbers...![]()
Well I was going for gusto! :p When cops come, you can easily point out the intruder as the guy who's on fire.![]()
I've never seen one fired but it's supposed to be pretty impressive, especially at night...
I have a rifle I use for hunting, but it's stored away. I'm not worried about anyone getting at it, especially since we don't have kids, but I think it would take me too long to find it and load it in the dark if there ever was a problem. I'm O.K. with having it in the house, but I don't like to leave it out where I can get to it quickly, and that kind of defeats the purpose of having it for protection.
I do, believe it or not, sleep with a good-sized double-edge hatchet next to my bed. It's heavy enough that if any ed with me I could destroy them. It doesn't do a great job against another person if they have a gun, but it's a pretty effective weapon.
You know there is such a thing as safe with a lighted key pad. You can put in a closet and have it bolted to the floor. To remove it, a crook would need a jack hammer. You walk up it touch the keypad and it lights up. Push your 5 digit combo in and the safe opens. It takes less than 30 seconds to get to your gun. It is pretty hard to steal, and would be easy to find in the dark. They have smaller versions for handguns that can fit inside night stand drawers or be bolted to the floor under the bed.
Hey, neat. We've been thinking about getting a handgun, due to the increase of home invasions, but not without a safe, due to the kids. Probably costs an arm and a leg though.
~$100 bucks for unlit one. Check Nagels on San Pedro or go to one of the Saxet Gun shows.
good handguns can get expensive but are worth the cost in quality and reliability. If you are in the market I highly recommend you look at this pistol...it's reliable, has good balance, drives nails, has a huge capacity mag for a .45 and feels good in a big hand...yet it's not really big...Hey, neat. All I have is a stun gun, but it works.
Sorry CC, I wouldn't recomend a 45 cal to a new shooter. I'd say go with 9mm, berreta, Sig, or Glock if you have the cash. A 45 can be hard to shoot with if you're just learning, and kinda big for a lady if she has small hands.
I totally agree about the lady part, especially the P12 because it has a double stack magazine...but I have long fingers ang it feels great in my hand...They can practice with lower power wadcutters to get used to shooting it before loading it with the P+ bad boy stuff...
As to the 45 vs. the 9mm...there are serious issues with the stopping power of the 9's...not that I want to get shot with one but there is just no comparison with that big ol 45...I wouldn't recommend anyone go above that for personal protection (44 mag, etc.) recoil is just way too much for quick reaquisition of target...
Why do you like the feel of tubular objects in your hand so much CC?
I'm sure it has something to do with sex TLong...kinda the same reason you like tubular objects in your mouth...![]()
Manny buy a TANK as your gift to Jessica when you will marry your woman!![]()
I like the SW .357 magnum revolver. With the longer barrel. It looks big, shoots smoothly, and has tremendous stopping power. I know it's not an automatic, but it's easy to take care of and you know when it's loaded or not.
Side note CC, have you seen the mini sluggers for 12 gauge shotguns? They have less powder so they are much shorter. You can pack like 6 shots in the space of three regular 2 3/4" s s. Won't go through as much stuff since they have less powder.
yeah...the swat guys love em because they can carry like 20 rounds in the magazine...some guns don't like running them though...especially gas operated ones...

So you sure about no handguns in the house?
I wish someone used a gun on me, instead of starving me to death.
