Thanks.
"connection made after several reloads"
This is the best, and probably only tactic, bombing the local DNS with queries until it finally get the right, positive answers.
Happened to me last night, wifi-tethering my tablet to my iphone/ATT. Couldn't get spurstalk, but after a couple browser reloads, all was ok.
oops, of course the NS records for spurstalk were changed in the .com parent servers from ns12,3.spurstalk.com to someother NSs:
now the NSs are back to spurstalk DNSt, but note the 172800 seconds/48 hour TTL (time-to-live in DNS caches) on those NS records.
dig @f.gtld-servers.net ns spurstalk.com
;; AUTHORITY SECTION:
spurstalk.com. 172800 IN NS ns1.spurstalk.com.
spurstalk.com. 172800 IN NS ns2.spurstalk.com.
spurstalk.com. 172800 IN NS ns3.spurstalk.com.
So it could take a couple days for total return to normal.
Not having now the NS and SOA records from yesterday's non-spurtalk DNSs, can't say what those NS and SOA TTL and negative TTL were.
Soooooo....The asteroid is headed for earth?

I guess you could always put the following line in your hosts file as a workaround:
91.185.193.217 www.spurstalk.com
I can't get on the site on my laptop? Wussup wit dat? Only thru phone
same... but as of now, I'm on with my laptop
The Spurstalk.com website is worth $43,159

I'm still having a load of problems getting onto the site.
I couldn't get on earlier and actually had to work. I hope my boss doesn't expect that kind of production all the time.
Where can I find the hosts file if I'm using firefox? I'm still having intermittent problems.
Every now and again it cuts off, but usually comes back on in a few minutes.
i thought i was banned tbh.
Guilty conscience?
Just kidding.
I presume you're using Windows 7.
Close your browser.
C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts
You will need to run Notepad as Administrator to edit the hosts file. Right-click on Notepad and select Run as administrator.
Add the entry I posted earlier and save the file.
Open your browser and try ST again. It should work normally now.
Change your DNS server to 8.8.8.8 primary and 8.8.4.4 secondary
On my home PC, I was on spurstalk Mon night and Tue morning.
But Tue night, spurstalk not found, but a couple browser reloads brought right up.
This. I'm using my phone as a hotspot for my iPad.
Yes, I'm using Windows 7, and thank you! Hope this helps others as well until this server issue gets resolved.
If you're using a Mac, it's at /private/etc/hosts. It's easiest to use the terminal.app, "cd /private/etc/", type "sudo pico hosts" to open the pico editor, and add the line that TampaDude typed at the end. Then ctrl-o to save the file and ctrl-x to exit pico.
Whoops. Simultaneous posting. Maybe the instructions will help someone else.![]()
Also you may have to edit the hosts file "permissions" by right clicking on it and clicking on the security tab then advanced etc..click on the boxes to enable them for your user name, then you can save the file with the new line added.
They will! Thanks anyways
