Who was the intensity energy guy off the bench last year?our 2nd unit lacks any sort of intensity or energy
Brent Barry?
Beno Udrih?
it wouldn't be insulting to have manu come off the bench, our 2nd unit lacks any sort of intensity or energy. they continually either give up leads or make them bigger. and let's face it, no team will want to help us out by sending us a big who can rebound and defend. those players are a scarce commodity in the first place. bide time, keep winning when you can until manu gets healthy. hopefully in the meantime someone will step up and inspire the team. you can't get it done consistently with just 2 stars anymore, it takes that 3rd player elevating to beat good teams on a consistent basis.

Games like today...I really miss Manu.
I don't think anyone's ever said..."Manu's playing with no energy."
He could get the team going all by his lonesome.
pop moved manu to the bench in the denver series because the bench lacked energy. it was sometimes a problem last year as well. your point?
^I think his point was that we still managed to win the Championship. Manu only came off the bench for that Denver series. Our bench lacked energy, yet our starting 5 (and Horry) managed to get the job done.
i know what his point was supposed to be, i just don't see why he tried to make it. he picked one line from my post and tried to invalidate what i was saying with it, which is infantile. even though the championship was won, our team was not perfect. especially with manu injured, and the dings and knicks the team is ac ulating, the bench is that much more important. you don't want to have to rely on 6 to get it done.
Just curious ... if the Pistons and Spurs meet in the finals this season, and they play on all ABNORMAL days, does that scare you?
I'm going to pe ion that the NBA sets all of the NBAL finals games on abnormal days. No normal days please.
Its infantile to prove someone wrong??which is infantile
wahhhhh
whos the infant.
I think he means Christmas mr sensitive.and they play on all ABNORMAL days, does that scare you?

never thought id say this..
not being a bandwagoner but..
i had more fun watching the heat vs lakers game
i love the spurs but it just seemed like they didnt want to play at all.
except for bowen and nazr.
you didn't prove anyone wrong about anything, thus your statement was infantile. you don't have to post every time you think someone is whining. i wasn't. give it up.
Lets see now.....Suns are slumping because Stoudamire is out? NOPE!!!! There is little doubt that this team misses Manu but if they are using that as a crutch and decide to play passively till he returns, we are doomed! I love the Spurs but there is no excuse for the way they played today. The only ones who showed up was Bowen, Parker, & Nazr. Ain't gonna get it done!!!!
Great post as usual TwoHand...
I'd argue we already have one piece of the front court puzzle in Nazr - when things get physical is when he thrives. Rasho had been coming on lately but damn he was so soft today, it's time to give Nazr another look at starting.I don't know what Pop will do to remedy our frontcourt but that is where our most glaring weakness lies. Tim has virtually no help whatsoever up front and he cannot overcome Wallace&Wallace plus McDdyess plus Davis all by himself. Manu's return will more than shore up our backcourt but our frontcourt has no easy answers.
I feel Pop needs to work a trade and jettison Rasho plus a combination of bench wing players to get Tim at least a frontcourt mate who can rebound and defend reliably. The Pistons took us to a game 7 last year and their frontcourt has gotten better while ours has declined. Playoff games are won in the paint so something needs to be done.
If you could find a person thats available Via trade, that would do the job, Im sure Pop would do it....
I agree. I thought the Lakers and Heat were more interesting than the Pistons and Spurs. Maybe it was because I knew the Spurs going to win the whole game. Maybe it was because the Spurs weren't really trying. Maybe the Spurs and Pistons do really play boring basketball. I don't know, but the JV game fulfilled it's role.
If the Spurs need a big, who is available that can actually help a Tim Duncan?
From what I saw was Duncan and (insert teammate here) were getting owned in the paint...
over and over and over and over again.......
Isn't Duncan supposed to be one of the best rebounders in the league? What about Marks or Oberto?
we don't need offense from that position, we just need someone to block people out, be aggressive and grab the damn ball.........
WTF?
Pop should trade Rasho for my main man Danny Fortson.![]()

Or, if you really need some defensive presence next to your nancy-boy finesse power forward, perhaps you should look into the services of Erick Dampier.
(Just kidding. Although I still don't get why you start Rasho instead of Nazr.)

Spurs win on Team play...if we ain't hitting all cylinders, we don't win.
Uh, you need some Pistons in order to do that...
Got some "pistons" last year. Game 7!
SPURS will be there at the end and all of you will totally forget this day!

that is why manu is going to be coming off the bench
(atleast righ tawy a when he comes back)
Mr. Sensitive?? LMAO ...
I make a joke in response to SOMEONE ELSE'S post, and you feel the need to clarify ... ON A JOKE ... it was a joke. What is an "abnormal" day? It's a joke, T Park. It wasn't even YOUR comment. It was a JOKE to Alvarez. Just a JOKE.
Who exactly is sensitive?
This game proceeded just as the first 27 games. Little energy and , as popovich mentions frequently, an en lement at ude style of play. The Pistons exposed the Spurs level of play at this point in the season. Detroit and Dallas , for whom I consider the 2 of the 3 best teams in the league, showed that good teams are going to kick our a$$ with the level of energy played at this point in the season. Now I believe that we will get better as the season progresses but against detroit we needed to show up and play with some intensity but we chose no to. It was a shame that we looked like we barely cared.
I am surprised to see some of detroit's finest talking trash about a december basketball game. I did notice most spurs fans here ignored them because we understand that the championship is our's and we will not lose it december.
I hope Pop and can get these guys motivated..
I was so disappointed in how they acted. They just didn't care. And thats what disappoints me. This WAS a statement game. And the Pistons made a good statement. Duncan looked lackadasical, was not very agressive, didn't jump on rebounds, and didn't want to be there. Bowen played excellent on both ends, Barry sucked, Finley sucked, Parker was decent, however no one brought their A game. But don't get me wrong, the Pistons have good defense, but we missed a TON of easy shots. Part of being a good team is bringing your A game for a rival game. Spurs failed this one horribly. I really hope they get things together, which I honestly think they will. But until then I see Detroit being the best team in the league with us being second. You know its bad when your superstar doesn't care.
To be a fly on the wall at film session today.![]()
