Cue the Spurstalk lovefest and beginning of the mythification of Ian Mahinmi....
    Quite agree with that.
I haven't watch the game but Mahinmi played against Saer Sene who was ill too.
Even is Sene is few month older than Mahinmi, he is rawer : in Europe Mahinmi is a way better player than Sene (Mahinmi has better stats in a better league).
It's a good thing than Mahinmi is doing well but it's not a big deal.

Must of been seriously half assing it over here. I want him to succeed he's a cool guy an was cool to talk to very friendly, but didn't seem like a good player at all

    Hope he makes it!

    Europe.

    Play the kid here.
Reports say that Mahinmi need to gain something like 20lbs before coming in nba. I'm quite sure that one more year in europe is the best thing to do.

We need something to replace your mythification of Nazr into the lovechild of Wilt and Hakeem.

Something no one has mentioned(at least that I have seen)...

Both games Mahnimi was just about the best in the game at getting to the FT line.....

That's a telling sign about the level he is playing at offensively(either because of skill or athleticism) compared to the rest of the guys.

I'd like to point out...that was also the Admiral's best offensive skill.

If you want somebody to gain weight move them to San Antonio. Sit his ass on the end of the bench with a couple dozen tacos and a twelve pack of corona each game. That will be his double double each game. That will do the trick.

The kid will learn more practicing against Duncan than he will playing against scrubs someplace else.

LOL... we'll see what happens up in Detroit this year.

BTW, I really don't like the idea of Barea playing with Dallas. If the Spurs pick up Jacque Vaughn and the Mavs counter by signing Barea, they've widened the gap there on us.

    Excellent point...

There's no place better in the entire world to gain 20lbs, than San Antonio.

Just have him spend two weekends at the RiverWalk...and it'll be done.

You can supplement this by having him eat at Malik's Philly Phamous every day for lunch during this period.

I just want Ian here to be practicing every day against Duncan. Dude will get much better much faster having to D up Duncan every day than he will over in Europe. Plus, you've got the added benefit of having Horry around to teach him some veteran tricks of the trade and learn the Spurs system.

Bring him in, let him practice every day with the Spurs, and send him up to Austin every night to play in the NBDL games. He'll come in much more ready to help this squad than he would staying in Europe for another year or two and then coming over and having to spend another year or two adjusting to everything - the speed of the NBA, physicality of the game, life in America, life in SA, his teammates, the Spurs system, etc.

    exactly right.

    Pau Pao or whoever.

He would learn more in 5 practices with Duncan, Horry, and the coaching staff, than france in 3 years.

    Keep Ian over here.

I agree with AHF, if you want the kid to fly, throw him over the next, want him to run, walk him over the fires.

BTW, how is it possible so many people think Ian is going to dominate? Has timvp confirmed this speculation?

I would say Mahinmi is doing quite good for his second usa game
I would say it seems like he's getting owned by bigger more physical post players.

I have a question. His contract is guaranteed because he is a first round pick. How long do the spurs have to bring him over and it begins? I know that everyone else that has drafted from overseas has been a 2nd round pick and nothing has to be guaranteed with them.

THe Spurs have one of the best practice facilities in the world, and have a hall of famer to practice agains.

    Europe aint compared to that.

Europe is NOT the best thing to do.

Time to stop screwing around and get used to america, and the way things go on over here.

    Europe aint gonna do nothing.
