haha, i remember that, i'm not in dallas but i get league pass so sometime we get the other team's announcers, that was pretty hilarious how crazy the announcer went
I sure hope Pop believes this as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They've become a very good 2nd half defensive team but their trend of giving up 50-60 pts in the 1st half to lesser teams and having to play their asses off on D in 2nd half just to win is getting really OLD. At least they're winning the games.
But the rebounding issue is due to small ball. With Elson at the C, he is athletic enough to keep up with Dirk.
Man I can't wait to shove it down the Mavs fans throats when we oust them from the playoffs this year. MAN IT'S GONNA BE SWEET! Enjoy your winning while you can losers!![]()

I even agree with that. Elson can't stop Dirk. If we are lucky, he can at least keep up with him and contest shots.
Mavs are virtually unstoppable. "January le" or not, this team looks way improved in everything, all thanks to Avery.
who liked the bargnani block on dirk?
If and when the Mavs ever do win an NBA championship, will Mavs' fans know how to act? All that bravado without ring support takes a certain false sense of security. How would they act with a true sense? We may never know.
it's good to see that bargnani isn't quite the bust everyone thought he would be because of his play in november...as for the block, it's not like little nate on yao but it was good 7 on 7 (feet) action
They are very very good, but their wins aren't just absolute domination. Don't get me wrong, they are the best team right now. However, they aren't exaclty owning every team. There is hope haha.
29 teams each year don't get a ring. Does that mean none of those fans should root for their teams without abandon and talk smack when a team they don't like gets beat? It's not a ing tennis match where everyone claps politely (although, the U.S. Open is a but different) and neither is it European football where things go awesomely crazy. I was in Germany this summer checking out the World Cup and hanging with my cousin, THOSE peeps are some crazy fans, this ain't nothing.
True enough.
at Spurs fans who think Francisco ing Elson is the key to stopping one of the 3 best players in the NBA.
Enjoy that.
Course not. But how many NBA teams have ever "dominated every game"?
It's the pros. Every team has good players, and any team can beat any other. W's are W's.
The 04-05 Spurs team blew out a lot of teams. At one point Pop was saying that he was sick of it and the team needed more experience in close games.
But you are right, W's are W's.
Mavs this year have blown out a lot of teams too. I don't recall exactly what percentage of Spurs 04-05 games were blowouts, but I do remember that the 04-05 Spurs weren't even the top seed in the West, so they couldnt have been that dominant in the regular season.
Now, obviously that doesnt matter since the Spurs won it all when it counted. But I'm not quite sure how relevant it is that the Mavs are only winning half their games by double digits instead of all of them. At least, I'm not sure quite yet.....
You have a point though. It's also a good thing to win the close games sometimes. Most games in the playoffs in the later rounds are gonna be close. If you only know how to win in blowouts then you probably got another thing comin.

So you spend the time making a post about it. Smart

They went back and forth for first place with Phoenix until about March, because Tim Duncan went down. They were very dominant with bad teams, I know we played very well against good teams at home. We blew out Phoenix at home.
It's not that relevant, I'm just trying to be optimistic. I think Phoenix and San Antonio both have just as much of a chance to win the West as the Mavs do, and that's scary.
And yes, close games are a good thing. Gives the Mavs good experience in those situations. I actually like close games for the Spurs for that very reason.
"They are very very good, but their wins aren't just absolute domination."
Last year, when Pistons were looking unbeatable, I remember they had several games just like the Mavs today.
Jazz did this several times before Christmas and the Suns do it often, too.
When it comes to the 4th qtr, or in crunch time, the weaker pretenders have more TOs, miss more FT and FGs, miss the big shots, make more defensive errors, less RBs than the better team.
These kinds of wins are good tests and confidence builders.
Pau Gasol esque too might I add.
Yeah, against most teams they've been coasting in the first half and turning it on in the 2nd half (especially on D). They've been behind at half a lot lately it seems. I think they've gotten extremely y over the last month or so. I do know that they always play really hard in the 2nd halfs of games. They don't mind getting behind from teams cuz they are so confident that they'll come back and win. Hopefully, they won't do this in the playoffs.
That sums up the Spurs too, in a way I guess? Seems like they often get lackadaisical against teams that they shouldn't.
Holy cow! Toronto almost beat Dallas- go boys!![]()
I wish I had seen the game!
