I partly agree, I actually meant they only chance they have of winning requires some kind of double-digit lead going into the fourth.

dallas often plays their 1st quarters as hard as some teams play their 4ths

That was true for a while, but for the last couple weeks, they have gotten off to some slow starts in the first quarters.

Mavs are also not good in afternoon games. In February last year in Toronto, we got down by 20+ in the first half. We came back to win in OT but the Mavs are not good during the day. Takes them a while to wake up.

Sure, when the Mavs come out hitting, their 1st q's are very often over 30 pts.

But I've seen many Mavs games like this one where the Mavs end up winning the 2nd half have much better than they lost the first half.
