I like the takes on the Verve. One of my favorite bands. Northern Soul was my second all time favorite album as a kid, behind the Stone Roses first album. I own all of Richard Ashcrofts solo stuff too, which is quite good actually.
Coldplay is far from bad music...when you listen to the other crap that seems to be popular now, they look like musical geniuses to be honest.

There's controversy about them not being exactly original, but that doesn't change the fact that I get addicted to listening to some of their songs.

I don't understand how anyone can listen to this . Whenever it comes up on Pandora, it's some of the worst music I hear.
Coldplay's alright. They're not incredibly talented; they've got some good stuff but a lot of it seems to run together. They're definitely on their way down; that chord progression from Clocks can only be d out so many times.
lady gaga and that chick that sings about "waking up in the morning frlling like pdiddy" can attest to this
Also Lady Gaga is ugly as and she dresses like a dumbass to draw attention away from her face.

I'm a Coldplay fan, not afraid to admit. I'm surprised they're receiving as much hate as they are in this thread.
X&Y is a horrible album, but their other three albums are solid. "Warning Sign" is probably my favorite song by them.
I don't particularly like Coldplay, but I will listen to Scientist and Yellow when they come on. Just like Lady Gaga, they fit a niche and have successfully made a name for themselves and their fans. Can't knock the hustle even if it isn't your cup of tea.
If Eminem re-mixed and rapped to a Coldplay beat, would that be Mookies worst nightmare?

I think their music is perfectly suited for movie soundtracks. If you want some background music for a scene, just listen to some Coldplay and you will find what you are looking for.
