both were at the mercury before it got turned into the current lame venue the parish. they used to have some badass shows there.
I LOVE Lords of Acid, damn I bet that was a good show.

I was at that show. I forgot Prong was there too. I loved it when Phil came out and played those Brazillian bongo drums with Sepultura. That pit was probably the largest I have ever been in.
Was this on the "Far Beyond Driven" tour?
I caught that same bill out here at Irvine Meadows (now Verizon Wireless Amphitheater) the same day that the World Cup ended. Pantera and Sepultura went to the Championship game that day when Brazil beat Italy at the Rose Bowl, and boy, those Sepultura boys were in FULL celebration mode at the gig that night; wearing Brazlilian unis and flags and all of that stuff.
It's cool reading how you guys were at the same shows.
ooohh yeah! I remember when Serj said Jerry Jones was the devil and everyone started ripping the seat covers off and started thowing 'em all over the place I thought TX stadium was going to get shredded.
It was crazy they pulled out all these sex dolls and that chick the singer started doing "things" with them and the MLWTK came out and joined in. Good times.
Damn, I wouldn't even know where to begin on a topic like this. First off, I have to give a big thanks to a roommate I had for about 5 plus years. He was a huge concert guy and really got me into seeing bands live, plus he had connections to get good tickets whenever a band was playing in central Texas (Austin, SA, Houston).
But as far as amazing shows a few definitely stand out:
1. Stevie Ray Vaughn, I think of him as a God and when I saw him for the first time at Aquafest in Austin I was completely blown away. I never knew someone could play the guitar with that much passion, fury and joy at the same time.
2. Iron Maiden, saw every tour they've done beginning with Powerslave. Would have to say the show at the Alamodome where Anthrax opened was the best.
3. First row for AC/DC at the Erwin Center in Austin. I should have worn ing earplugs!
4. Smashing Pumpkins at Southpark Meadows in Austin (it's now a huge shopping center). I don't know if it was the mushrooms or what, but damn that was a fun show.
5. Metallica, also at Southpark Meadows. No mushrooms, just some kind bud and an amazing performance. Master of Puppets live, need I say more?
6. Beastie Boys, opening for ing Run DMC in high school. I loved the Beastie Boys, they had just released liscened to Ill, but getting to see Run DMC really got me more into rap/hip hop.
7. The Roots, on 6th street. Incredible blend of lyrical skill and live instruments.
8. Ian Moore opening for Eric Johnson, he completely blew him off the stage. At the time closest I've seen to matching SRV.
9. Pantera at the Back Room in Austin. Last minute thing, they decided to play a small venue and I got there early enough to get in. Pantera in a VERY small venue? ing incredible.
10. Willile Nelson. Took the wife to see him at Stubbs in Austin, guy still puts on a of a performance, played for over 2 hours. Great show.
Yes. Sepultura was incredible. Igor ruled.
Dude I was there with A-Train. It was freaking nuts. Seats were flying everywhere. I thought the place was going to come down once Korn started playing.
yeah, by the time Metallica was midway through I had soo much beer and it was so damn hot I had to remove myself from the pit and find somewhere to lay down.
Alot of people have mentioned Metallica......... And I know why. Seen them twice and they kick ass...
Yes it was. I had never even heard of Sepultura and couldn't understand why the they were top billed over Prong, until I heard them play. Holy crap those Brazillian boys kicked ass. I never cared for them after the split though. Somehow it wasn't the same.
I wish that I have gone to more concerts.
My most fun concert was a Jimmy Buffett concert.
The most fabulous concerts that I have been to, musically speaking,
are a Rush concert, a Yes! concert.
The most drug-induced concert I've ever been to was when they had the South Texas Jam out at verizon wireless in SA. Deep Purple, Lynard Skynard (the tribute band), Ted Nugent, and a few others. I drank so much and had so much second hand mary jane that I was dazed and confused for a week after that concert.
Can't believe I forgot X.
I've seen them live several times, and they've been great at each show. Even the one where I got knocked in the head by a wayward shoe.
Wow. Are they still around?
I haven't heard anything about them in a long time.
Don't know. Last time I saw them was... 1997, I think. They've broken up and reunited several times, but still sounded good ten years ago.
I was once hit simultaneously by 2 frisbees at an Aerosmith/Bad Company concert!![]()
