Hey, I thought that the hat was a nice touch.

i wanted to see more of white in the silver&black... it.
I watched White play...and Beno was better as a rookie. The organization obviously saw this.
I guess you're right. White and Mahinmi are garbage.
My money is on Splitter. Savior of the Spurs!
For those looking for a little more wistful goodbye than Ludden offered, I thought this might help:

On paper, there's nothing all that impressive about James White -- he's a 24-year-old, 6-foot-7 swing man who got into just six games for the Spurs this season. But of course, the game isn't played on paper, it's played in my computer monitor, and through the power of video I've seen James White do extraordinary things. Such as this, and this, and, of course, this.
So, months after White rode the pine en route to an NBA Championship ring, I was sad to learn that the Spurs waived White on Monday. I can't say the team didn't give him a fair shake -- they gave him one last look at the Las Vegas Summer league and apparently didn't like what they saw.
To be honest, I'm not all that sure his skills can translate to the team game, but he's clearly one of the most athletic players out there, and for what it's worth he was considered a solid defender coming out of college. The fact that he can't hold down a roster spot for the World Champion Spurs does not preclude him from latching on elsewhere, hopefully with a younger team that plays at a more up-tempo pace so that we can enjoy seeing what he does best -- and that is, "create highlight reels" -- on a semi-regular basis.
i agree... Mahimni and White r a lie... Splitter is good... but always remeber he was Scola's sub...
That was sarcasm...
Back from a 5-day vacation and this is what I find out. Not that the Spurs have signed someone relevant or redeemed themselves with a semi-decent trade. Nope, just more cost-cutting moves....rediculous.
Not that I didn't see this one coming. Every article that mentioned his name was talking about the Spurs' disappointment in him.
But still....you probably couldn't get much cheaper than him for a roster spot that will most assuredly spend their time in Austin (if eligible) or in street clothes. Maybe the Spurs are banking on a guy they liked this year not making the cut on another team so they can swoop in and grab him....
Bottom Line: Unless this is part of a bigger plan (Udoka signing or other rookie), it's yet another disappointment for this off-season.
The big plan was signing the Pep Boys. They needed three roster spots.
