where did the the whole thing where sheed said he wanted to come to sa? I didnt hear anything about boston etc..

Its a win-win situation for both parties (sa/sheed). If he goes to "BOSTON" his role would kinda be uncertain. And im sorry people are saying sheed has a close relationship with KG...but if anybody knows a lil thing about Duncan and has respect for him its Sheed...

What in the world are you talking about?

In the West there is LA, maaaybe Denver.

In the east right now you have to go through Boston, Cleveland, and Orlando.

The calculus is pretty simple there.
Most contending teams in the West apart from those are collapsing. The Suns are toast, the Hornets are trying to trade away Chandler, Yao and McGrady are both out for the Rockets, and the Jazz haven't done much of anything for the past couple of years. Dallas is going to spend big money on Kidd and Bass just so they can maintain the status quo- which doesn't work in their favor. The only other potential challenge I can see (in addition to the Lakers and Nuggets) is if the Blazers make a big free agent acquisition. The West is not nearly as deep as it used to be.

You are exactly right and I also said it last night.

In the West you have the Lakers, Spurs, and maaaybe the Nuggets.

In the East you have a Shaq/LeBron Cavs team, Bostons "big 3", and Orlando's team as well. I think the East may be harder to get out of than the West.

The West is going to have 4 significant teams this year..LA, San Antonio, Portland, and Denver..LA is currently on their own level though, unless we sign an impact big man..the other 2 teams will be fighting it out, trying to reach that level..they'll both have to have a few things happen for them to reach it..

the East has 3 legitimate heavyweights that are on the top level in the NBA with the Lakers..

I agree. Portland's entire team is young, and if only Oden and Batum improve significantly next season that would be more then enough to put them over the top. If Webster, Bayless, and Rudy Fernandez also continue to grow, and they land a significant free agent, that could be big trouble for other western teams. On top of this they have many more tradable assets than most teams, and a smart aggresive GM.

Sources say Boston Celtics GM Danny Ainge and assistant director of basketball operations Leo Papile showed up on Rasheed Wallace’s(notes) doorstep just after midnight Wednesday to make their recruiting push.

“I know he is definitely considering playing for them,” one league source said.
