Alright, I finished PMing everyone back. If you didn't get a PM response, that means I didn't get it. Tomorrow I'll tackle sending responses to the responses

i also think that it could be a good idea to have some "official" threads about usual topics.

i mean a topic for each player, a topic for Pop's coaching, a topic for defense, one for offense etc etc.

Sometimes that's a little bit the way it is with some threads about a player used/bumped to add something about him, but in many french sports forums you see that more clearly and as a rule.

by example, you can have a Mason thread which will be used to talk about his performance till the thread is clearly too long/old or till a really new event happens to this player (big injury / trade....). In that case a new "official" thread will be open and used.

If you want to say what you want about Mason play, you'll use the "official" topic.

If you think a specific thread would be interesting to talk about how Mason and Tony play well together, you can always make one.

I think that could make things very much clear and doesn't prevent a poster to start a new thread for any other topic he wants to talk about. that will also avoid having 10 threads about a player after a good or bad performance where his "official" thread would have been enough to post comments about that.

that's the way the Think Tank has been made about Trade/prospects, and that really made the discussion better IMO.

Thanks for providing this excellent forum. I love coming here as my one-stop-shop to read everything Spurs. Special props to Duncan228. I don't know how she finds the time to do what she does!

Just wondering if you ever considered putting in a fixed location (maybe top right), a Next Game box, something similar to what's on the MySA spurs page. The info can have the next opponent, the tv/radio schedule. Maybe you can even include a previous and next scroller to show past games with the box score and future opponents.

    Just a thought.
Thanks again! Back to my coffee and the forum!

    Thanks.

I try to bring the news and things I hope will spark conversation. There are lots of folks who can't surf for various reasons, or who don't have the time to. Helping SpursTalk to be a one-stop-shop for everything Spurs is my part of the bar.

Some posters like to dominate the posts and call it wisdom. I don't think so.

    I disagree,..

It's widely known that variety and independence is what stimulates interesting discussion. Where unlike " Official " threads which fastly become a myriad of scattered views that's likened to a disjointed chat room print.

It's a failed practice of boards here in the U.S. and if it's that common / protocol in France. Then that's an international flaw they should re-think and abandon.

See where when channeling all perspectives on a given player, coach, game or what have. In an " Official " thread posters have no choice but to become adjoined in a participating in jumbled junket of who says what hodgepodge,..a mess.

The lest interesting forums and boards practice that and it seals their lack of appeal or interest. Because people whom are seeking independent thoughts enjoy specific takes and specific posters. Thus in the pursuit they're certainly not so enamored by taking a part in an ongoing from sublime to subliminal saga of sudoku in scrabble form.

Thus you'll find the greater degree of subject enthusiasts don't take kindly to hunting those nuggets of agreement or disagreement with thoughts buried within a heap of mass who-ha.

The mass success of a forum comes down to whom you can attract to partake in any given forum discussion. Where in forcing posters and or viewers to find difficulty in finding those of depth and substance in " Official " threads is counter productive to the process of interest.

That's why all the better forums provides the feature of being allowing members to opt to be notified when specific posters contribute,..and that's a feature that simplifies their pursuit of their interest.

Maybe there should be a poll for a weekly mod every week to keep things interesting.

    What would that do?,..

I mean why pressure the Mods?,..See like the site owner collectively in regards to the nuts and bolts they do enough already. The support has to come from fellow members to express sound and solid perspectives to contribute to quality discussions.

See in sports just like there's wins and loses not all perspectives are going to be positive and to bear merit and accuracy they can't be Homer driven. Where for the most part Mods are geared to be pro positive about everything the team does and some truths they're not inclined to touch upon,..but yet those " ugly " truths have to be discussed if the team is going to improve.

See nobody likes to see their team losing and win or lose not everybody likes to hear the " Hardline " facts about what their team needs to improve either. Because speaking in depth about changes brings into focus that the team in present state isn't good enough to win and or somebody's not fulfilling their role.

Where in the rah-rah mentality of sports nobody likes to accept unless changes are made their team isn't in it to win it. But just like Homer-ism has never won a championship trying to disprove the hardline realities of improvement is a challenge fans can take shots at,..take your shot and don't expect Mod's to do everything by position.

What are you saying? I said to keep things interesting. Not to pressure the mods. This would help posters know that mods have their responsibility and it is tough to be a mod.
